\nBackground
\nEmmanel Development Association (EDA) is implementing a Windows of Hope: Sustainable Job for youth Project, aimed at Empowering youth- Led organization to reach 5,500 youth including young women, persons with disabilities, IDPs, returnees and other vulnerable youth to have access to dignified and fulfilling work in the Garment and Leather Sectors. To strengthen visibility, knowledge sharing, and stakeholder engagement, the organization seeks to recruit a qualified Communication Specialist.
\nOverall, Purpose of the Position
\nThe Communication Specialist will lead the design and implementation of communication and visibility strategies to support project objectives, enhance stakeholder engagement, and ensure compliance with donor branding and communication requirements.
\nKey Roles and Responsibilities
\nThe Communications Specialist will have the following key responsibilities:<\/p>\n
Develop a program communications strategy in consultation with Emmanuel Development Association (EDA) and the Mastercard Foundation Public Affairs and Communications (PAC) team.
\nDesign and develop clear and engaging communication material including but not limited to guidelines, handbooks, newsletters, blogs, and posters for the different target groups.
\nIdentify appropriate communications channels (social, online, and mainstream) to disseminate information to different target groups.
\nPlan and execute stakeholder engagement and events working closely with program teams to develop creative assets.
\nSupport the program team in preparing progress reports including quarterly to be submitted to the Mastercard Foundation
\nStay up to date with the Civil Society Organizations and Enterprises trends and best practices, integrating them into communication strategies where appropriate.
\nMaintain the Mastercard Foundation\u2019s and the Emmanuel Development Association (EDA) values and adhere to the project\u2019s Communication guideline.
\nMonitor and analyze the project media coverage and provide regular reports on communications performance.
\nResearch and write press releases, and content for the organizations\u2019 website, info-graphics, blogs, and newsletters.
\nAcquire and maintain a detailed knowledge of the company\u2019s policies, principles, and strategies, and keep up-to-date with relevant developments.
\nArrange and coordinate press conferences, and plan events.
\nPrepare risk mitigation and crisis communications plan.
\nAdhere to the company\u2019s style guide, ensuring that we produce a high-quality and error-free copy.
\nWork with key internal role-players to brainstorm content ideas, in line with the company\u2019s strategy and in support of various brand initiatives.
\nBuild and maintain relationships with journalists and key external role-players.<\/p>\n

\nKnowledge of youth development, Job creation and the manufacturing sector

About You<\/p>\n
Education, Work experience and Language<\/p>\n
BA or MA degree in communications, journalism, public relations, or a related field (essential).
\nA minimum of 3 to 5-years experiance.
\nExperience in communications strategy development.
\nHighly computer literate with capability in email, MS Office, and related business and communication tools.
\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills both in English and Amharic.
