\nWe are looking for an experienced engineer to help the PSI\/Ethiopia WASH team to have high standards and quality in water supply and small-scale irrigation construction and rehabilitation activities. The Specialist \u2013 WASH Engineer should have strong engineering, communication, supervisory skills, and the ability to create and review technical specifications that translate into workable implementation solutions in selected drought and conflict affected communities in Ethiopia.

Supervise top-level engineering oversight of new and rehabilitation construction of water supply and small-scale irrigation to be carried out by the implementing partner and contractors.
\nQuality of water and small-scale designs, specifications, bills of quantity, and standards of construction for water facility.
\nQuality and standard water supply and small-scale irrigation facilities
\nRegular supervision and tracking of progress of construction activities.
\ntechnical feedback, and assure quality results under effective, sustained community management.

\nYour contribution
\nUnder the supervision of the WASH Program Technical Lead- WASH Engineer, you will: <\/p>\n
Supervise top-level engineering oversight of new and rehabilitation construction of water supply and small-scale irrigation to be carried out by contractors.
\nReview and provide recommendations on the technical appropriateness of the designs, drawing, specifications, bills of quantity, and standards of construction for water facility construction in a variety of settings.
\nPreparation of takeoff sheet, payment certificate and as build drawing in consultation with contractors and county office specialist -WASH engineer
\nSchedule frequent travel to construction sites to oversee and report on the quality of water supply and small-scale irrigation facilities under construction or rehabilitation by PSI\u2019s consortium partner.
\nConduct regular review meetings with the WASH team, consortium partners, and other stakeholders to track the progress of the construction activities.
\nProvide corrective technical feedback, and assure quality results under effective, sustained community management.
\nClosely work with WASH teams and implementing partners to establish good relationships and achieve better results<\/p>\n

About You<\/p>\n
What are we looking for? The basics<\/p>\n
BSc\/MSc in Water Engineering or related field
\nMinimum 4 years of experience with a master\u2019s or 6 years with a first degree related to water engineering, preferably with development or emergency\/humanitarian organization
\nHave practical experience on Engineering software\u2019s (AutoCAD and EPHANET \/WATERCAD is mandatory)
\nPositive record of interaction with different project stakeholders is a major plus.
\nSignificant work and supervisory experience (resulting in sustained operation and success) in the construction and rehabilitation of drinking water and small-scale irrigation facilities.
\nDemonstrated excellence in technical quality assurance and improvement, with ability to document processes and operationalize action tracking systems in a digestible way with clear updates to management and staff.
\nStrong interpersonal and English written and oral communication skills is required.<\/p>\n
