\nRole Purpose
\nThe Manager \u2013 Strategy & Advisory will lead and support the delivery of high-quality consulting engagements across private sector, public sector, and development partner clients.
\nA core focus of the role is private sector strategy development, alongside broader advisory work in financial services, public sector transformation, and donor-funded programs.
\nThis role requires prior experience in a professional consultancy environment, strong analytical capability, and hands-on proficiency in strategy and analytics tools used in consulting engagements.
\nKey Responsibilities
\nStrategy & Advisory Delivery<\/p>\n
Lead and contribute to consulting assignments across:<\/p>\n
Private sector strategy development (core requirement) including growth strategy, market entry, transformation, and operating model design
\nFinancial services (banks, insurance, microfinance institutions, capital markets)
\nPublic sector institutions and state-owned enterprises
\nDevelopment partner-funded programs and reforms<\/p>\n
Conduct market assessments, industry benchmarking, and competitive analysis
\nDevelop strategic recommendations, business models, and implementation roadmaps<\/p>\n
Consulting Project Delivery (Core Requirement)<\/p>\n
Deliver structured consulting work in a professional services environment
\nApply standard consulting methodologies (diagnostic, design, implementation support)
\nManage workplans, deliverables, timelines, and quality assurance
\nEnsure outputs meet consulting-grade standards (clarity, structure, insight, and defensibility)<\/p>\n
Tools & Analytical Capability (Core Requirement)<\/p>\n
Demonstrated ability to use consulting and analytical tools, including:<\/p>\n
Excel (advanced financial modeling and analysis)
\nPowerPoint (executive-level storytelling and structured presentations)
\nData visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau or equivalent)
\nMarket research and benchmarking tools<\/p>\n
Ability to translate data into clear insights and client-ready outputs<\/p>\n
Project Management & Team Leadership<\/p>\n
Manage delivery of end-to-end consulting engagements
\nSupervise and mentor junior consultants and analysts
\nCoordinate cross-functional teams and multiple workstreams
\nEnsure high-quality, timely delivery of all project outputs<\/p>\n
Client Engagement<\/p>\n
Interface with senior client stakeholders during engagements
\nFacilitate workshops, strategy sessions, and presentations
\nTranslate client needs into structured analytical workstreams<\/p>\n
Business Development Support<\/p>\n
Support proposal development, RFP responses, and pitch preparation
\nContribute to identifying new consulting opportunities within existing clients
\nSupport strengthening of client relationships and pipeline development<\/p>\n
About You<\/p>\n
Qualifications & Experience<\/p>\n
Bachelor\u2019s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Engineering, Public Policy, or related field (Master\u2019s preferred)
\n5\u20138 years of relevant experience in consulting, advisory, strategy, banking, or development finance
\nMandatory: Experience working in a consulting or professional services environment
\nDemonstrated experience in private sector strategy development (required)
\nExperience in one or more of the following:<\/p>\n
Financial services advisory or transformation
\nPublic sector reform or policy advisory
\nDevelopment partner-funded projects<\/p>\n
Strong analytical, structuring, and problem-solving capabilities<\/p>\n
