Position Overview \/ Scope of Role:
\nThe Director \u2013 Business Development & Project Coordination is responsible for leading the identification, development, and execution of strategic growth initiatives across Great Abyssinia Group (GAG). The role drives business expansion, oversees high-impact strategic projects, and ensures effective coordination of cross-functional initiatives at the group level.
\nThe position plays a critical leadership role in shaping the group\u2019s growth agenda by securing new business opportunities, strengthening partnerships, and ensuring disciplined execution of strategic priorities. The Director also leads financing coordination activities, including engagement with financial institutions, structuring funding initiatives, and ensuring timely execution of loan and investment processes.
\nThis role requires a highly strategic, commercially driven, and execution-focused leader capable of managing complex projects, influencing senior stakeholders, and delivering measurable business results.
\nTop Roles and Responsibilities:
\nStrategic Business Development Leadership
\n\u2022 Lead the development and execution of group-wide business development strategies aligned with corporate growth objectives.
\n\u2022 Identify, evaluate, and secure high-value business opportunities, partnerships, and investment initiatives.
\n\u2022 Drive market expansion strategies across existing and new business lines.
\n\u2022 Conduct strategic market analysis and provide insights to support executive decision-making.
\nProject Governance and Strategic Execution
\n\u2022 Lead end-to-end management of high-priority strategic projects across the group.
\n\u2022 Establish project governance frameworks, structures, and performance tracking systems.
\n\u2022 Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with strategic objectives.
\n\u2022 Identify risks, bottlenecks, and dependencies, and drive timely resolution.
\nGroup-Level Coordination and Integration
\n\u2022 Drive coordination of cross-functional and cross-company initiatives within the group.
\n\u2022 Ensure alignment between subsidiaries, departments, and leadership teams.
\n\u2022 Facilitate execution of strategic priorities through strong follow-up and accountability mechanisms.
\n\u2022 Act as a central point of coordination for major group initiatives.
\nFinancing Strategy and Bank Relationship Management
\n\u2022 Lead financing coordination including structuring, planning, and execution of funding initiatives.
\n\u2022 Oversee preparation and submission of bank loan applications and financing documentation.
\n\u2022 Build and manage strong relationships with financial institutions and lenders.
\n\u2022 Ensure timely follow-up, negotiation, and closure of financing arrangements.
\nPartnership Development and Stakeholder Management
\n\u2022 Develop and manage strategic partnerships with investors, clients, and external stakeholders.
\n\u2022 Represent the group in high-level business discussions and negotiations.
\n\u2022 Strengthen relationships to support long-term business growth and collaboration.
\nCommercial and Investment Analysis
\n\u2022 Evaluate business opportunities, projects, and investments from a financial and strategic perspective.
\n\u2022 Support feasibility studies, business cases, and investment proposals.
\n\u2022 Provide recommendations on business expansion and diversification initiatives.
\nReporting and Executive Support
\n\u2022 Prepare high-level reports, presentations, and strategic briefs for executive leadership.
\n\u2022 Provide regular updates on business development pipelines, project status, and financing activities.
\n\u2022 Support leadership in strategic planning and performance review processes.
\nPerformance Monitoring and Accountability
\n\u2022 Establish KPIs and performance metrics for business development and project execution.
\n\u2022 Track progress against targets and ensure accountability across stakeholders.
\n\u2022 Drive a results-oriented execution culture across initiatives.
\nProcess Improvement and Institutionalization
\n\u2022 Develop and standardize processes for project management, business development, and financing coordination.
\n\u2022 Improve systems, tools, and frameworks for effective execution and reporting.
\n\u2022 Promote best practices and continuous improvement across the group.
\nLeadership and Team Development
\n\u2022 Build and lead a high-performing team to support business development and project coordination functions.
\n\u2022 Provide coaching, mentoring, and performance management.
\n\u2022 Ensure capability development and succession planning within the team.

About You<\/p>\n
Educational Qualification:
\n\u2022 Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Business Administration, Management, Economics, Finance, or related field
\n\u2022 Master\u2019s Degree (MBA or relevant field) is highly preferred
\nExperience:
\n\u2022 Minimum 8\u201312 years of experience in business development, strategy, project management, or related roles
\n\u2022 At least 4 years in a leadership or senior management role
\n\u2022 Proven experience in managing strategic projects and financing processes
