\nThe Role
\nKGM is searching for a Mining Superintendent with a minimum of 5 years of experience to oversee open pit mining operations. This role is responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective production while maintaining compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will play a key leadership role in driving operational performance, workforce capability, and continuous improvement.
\nKey Responsibilities
\nDuties will include but are not limited to the following:<\/p>\n
Overseeing daily open pit mining operations to ensure achievement of production targets safely and efficiently
\nEnsuring strict adherence to health, safety, environmental, and quality standards by the mining teams
\nManaging and coordinating mining contractors and operational teams
\nMonitoring and optimizing drilling, blasting, loading, and hauling activities
\nDriving production planning execution in alignment with short- and medium-term mine plans
\nIdentifying and implementing continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce costs
\nEnsuring effective utilization of equipment and resources
\nDeveloping and mentoring supervisors and operational teams to build capability and performance
\nCollaborating with technical services, maintenance, and other departments to ensure integrated operations
\nReporting on production performance, safety metrics, and operational challenges.<\/p>\n
About You<\/p>\n
Qualifications<\/p>\n
Degree or M.Sc. in Mining Engineering or related field and a Minimum of 5\u201310 years\u2019 experience in open pit mining, with at least 3\u20135 years in a supervisory or superintendent role in a Cement factory , Mining Industry or Heavy industries is advantageous
\nValid Blasting Certificate for open pit mining
\nBe in possession of a driver\u2019s license.<\/p>\n

Strong understanding of open pit mining methods, equipment, and production processes
\nProven leadership and team management experience in a mining environment
\nSound knowledge of safety regulations and best practices
\nExperience working in remote or site-based operations
\nAbility to respond quickly to business needs, agile, flexible, continuous learning, innovation and proven ability to experiment on creative business solutions.
