\nPosition Summary
\nThe Senior Accountant will oversee the general accounting functions, ensuring the accuracy of financial statements, compliance with regulations, and the improvement of accounting processes. This role requires a seasoned professional with deep expertise in financial reporting, tax compliance, and team leadership within a dynamic industrial environment.
\nKey Responsibilities
\nFinancial Reporting & Analysis<\/p>\n
Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS.
\nManage the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately and timely.
\nConduct detailed variance analysis to explain budget vs. actual results for management.
\nCoordinate the timely completion of the month-end and year-end closing processes.<\/p>\n
Compliance & Tax Management<\/p>\n
Ensure full compliance with local tax laws, including VAT, Withholding, Profit Tax, and Pension remittances.
\nPrepare and file all statutory reports to the Ministry of Revenues and other regulatory bodies.
\nLiaise with external auditors and tax auditors during audits and inspections, providing necessary documentation.
\nStay updated on changes in financial regulations and communicate their impact to management.<\/p>\n
Internal Controls & Process Improvement<\/p>\n
Evaluate and strengthen internal controls over financial reporting and cash management.
\nSupervise and review the work of junior accountants to ensure accuracy.
\nDevelop and document accounting policies and procedures to enhance efficiency.<\/p>\n

About You<\/p>\n
Qualifications & Requirements
\nEducation & Certification<\/p>\n
Bachelor\u2019s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master\u2019s degree is a plus).
\nProfessional certification (CPA, ACCA, or equivalent) is highly preferred.<\/p>\n
Experience<\/p>\n
Minimum 10-15 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance.
\nAt least 5 years of experience in a supervisory or senior role.
\nExtensive experience in similar role in a Hotel or Restaurant is mandatory.<\/p>\n
Skills & Competencies<\/p>\n
Expert knowledge of IFRS and Ethiopian tax regulations.
\nProven ability to manage full-cycle accounting and financial reporting.
\nHigh proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Peachtree\/Sage, QuickBooks) and advanced MS Excel skills.
\nStrong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
\nExcellent communication and interpersonal skills for cross-departmental collaboration.
\nHigh level of integrity, ethical standards, and attention to detail.<\/p>\n
