We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Supply Chain Manager to oversee and optimize our entire supply chain workflow. You will be responsible for the end-to-end management of procurement, logistics, inventory, and warehouse operations. The goal is to maximize efficiency, minimize costs, and ensure that our production lines have a seamless flow of raw materials while maintaining optimal levels of finished goods.
\nKey Responsibilities
\n1. Strategic Procurement & Sourcing<\/p>\n
Develop and implement integrated supply chain strategies that support production goals and business growth.
\nLead the procurement of raw materials (such as billets and scrap), chemicals, and spare parts from both local and international markets.
\nEvaluate and negotiate contracts with key suppliers to ensure the best balance of quality, price, and delivery timelines.<\/p>\n
2. Logistics & Distribution Management<\/p>\n
Oversee the coordination of inbound and outbound logistics, ensuring efficient transportation from ports to the factory and from the factory to customers.
\nDirect the import\/export team to ensure compliance with maritime laws and Ethiopian customs regulations.
\nOptimize fleet utilization and manage relationships with third-party logistics providers.<\/p>\n
3. Inventory & Warehouse Oversight<\/p>\n
Implement advanced inventory management techniques to prevent stockouts or overstocking.
\nSupervise warehouse managers to ensure accurate record-keeping, safety compliance, and organized storage of raw materials and finished steel products.
\nConduct regular audits of inventory levels and lead the reconciliation process with the finance department.<\/p>\n
4. Process Optimization & Cost Control<\/p>\n
Analyze supply chain data to identify bottlenecks and implement continuous improvement initiatives (Kaizen\/5S).
\nMonitor departmental KPIs, including total landed cost, order cycle time, and supplier performance ratings.
\nCollaborate with the Production and Finance departments to align supply chain activities with sales forecasts and budget constraints.<\/p>\n
About You<\/p>\n
Job Requirements<\/p>\n
Education: Master\u2019s or BA Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Management, or a related field.
\nExperience: Minimum of 7\u201310 years of experience in supply chain or logistics, with at least 3 years in a managerial role, preferably within the manufacturing or heavy industry sector.
\nTechnical Skills:<\/p>\n
Expertise in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) and advanced data analytics.
\nThorough knowledge of international trade, Incoterms, and Ethiopian maritime\/customs laws.
\nStrong understanding of lean manufacturing principles and inventory control models.<\/p>\n
