\nPosition Summary
\nThe Project Coordinator is responsible for supporting the planning, coordination, and execution of road construction and infrastructure projects. The role involves coordinating project activities, monitoring site progress, supporting construction operations, and ensuring effective communication among contractors, consultants, clients, and project teams. The Project Coordinator will assist in ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and in compliance with engineering standards and contractual requirements.
\nMajor Duties & Responsibilities
\n1. Project Coordination and Planning<\/p>\n
Assist in the preparation and implementation of project plans, schedules, and work programs.
\nCoordinate project activities to ensure smooth execution of road construction works.
\nMonitor project timelines and support achievement of project milestones.
\nAssist in resource planning and coordination of manpower, equipment, and materials.<\/p>\n
2. Road Construction Coordination<\/p>\n
Coordinate daily road construction activities at project sites.
\nMonitor road works to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
\nSupport supervision of earthworks, pavement works, drainage systems, and related infrastructure activities.
\nAssist in resolving operational and technical issues arising on site.<\/p>\n
3. Stakeholder Coordination<\/p>\n
Coordinate communication between clients, consultants, contractors, and project teams.
\nPrepare meeting schedules, minutes, and follow-up action plans.
\nEnsure smooth information flow among all project stakeholders.
\nSupport resolution of project coordination and contractual issues.<\/p>\n
4. Documentation and Reporting<\/p>\n
Maintain project records, reports, correspondence, and technical documentation.
\nPrepare regular project progress reports and updates for management.
\nMonitor and track project deliverables and site activities.
\nEnsure proper filing and document control procedures are maintained.<\/p>\n
5. Quality, Safety, and Compliance<\/p>\n
Support implementation of quality assurance and quality control procedures on site.
\nEnsure compliance with engineering standards, environmental regulations, and safety requirements.
\nMonitor adherence to occupational health and safety procedures.
\nPromote a strong safety culture across the project team.<\/p>\n
6. Contract and Cost Coordination<\/p>\n
Assist in monitoring project costs and expenditures against approved budgets.
\nSupport administration of contracts, variations, and claims.
\nCoordinate procurement schedules and material deliveries for project activities.
\nAssist in preparing project financial and operational reports.<\/p>\n
7. Team Support and Administration<\/p>\n
Coordinate activities of engineers, supervisors, and technical staff.
\nSupport the Project Manager in daily project operations and administration.
\nPromote teamwork, collaboration, and efficient project execution.
\nPerform other related duties as assigned.<\/p>\n
About You<\/p>\n
Education<\/p>\n
Bachelor\u2019s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
\nAdditional certification in Project Management is an advantage.<\/p>\n
Experience<\/p>\n
Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in road construction and infrastructure projects.
\nExperience in coordinating large-scale road construction projects is highly preferred.
\nStrong experience in roadworks, asphalt works, earthworks, drainage systems, and highway infrastructure projects.<\/p>\n
Skills and Competencies<\/p>\n
Quality Control: Checking materials, workmanship, and compliance with Design and Specification. Documentation: Preparing daily progress reports, site diaries, and material consumption records. ProblemSolving: Addressing unexpected site challenges like delays, design conflicts, or resource shortages. Health & Safety: Enforcing safety protocols and conducting toolbox talks.
\nDrawings & BOQs: Ability to read, interpret, and implement structural, architectural drawings. Construction Materials: Understanding properties, testing, and appropriate use of concrete, steel, aggregates, and finishing materials.
