\nAbout The Job
\nThe company is looking for a dynamic and experienced Plant Manager to lead and manage the Amen Natural Spring Water PLC. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the end-to-end operations of the Amen Water bottling facility. This role ensures that production targets are met on time, within budget, and in total compliance with safety and water quality standards, and will drive a culture of continuous improvement, ensuring that the Source to Shelf process is seamless.<\/p>\n
About You<\/p>\n
Key Responsibilities
\nProduction & Operations Management<\/p>\n
Plan, organize, and oversee daily water production operations to meet volume, quality, and cost targets.
\nEnsure continuous and efficient operation of treatment, bottling, packaging, and storage processes.
\nMonitor production schedules and adjust resources to meet demand and delivery deadlines.
\nMinimize downtime, wastage, and production losses.<\/p>\n
Quality Assurance & Food Safety<\/p>\n
Ensure compliance with national drinking water standards (e.g., EFDA Standards & guidelines).
\nOversee water treatment processes (filtration, RO, UV, ozonation, etc.) and bottling hygiene.
\nImplement and monitor Quality Management Systems (QMS), GMP, HACCP, and sanitation programs.
\nEnsure regular laboratory testing of raw water, treated water, and finished products.
\nEnsure the preform, cap, and shrink wrap meet the quality standard before going to market.
\nHealth, Safety & Environmental Compliance
\nEnforce workplace health and safety standards across the plant.
\nEnsure safe handling of chemicals and treatment materials.
\nImplement environmental controls for wastewater, solid waste, and emissions.
\nLead safety training, risk assessments, and incident investigations.<\/p>\n
Maintenance & Asset Management<\/p>\n
Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance of production machinery, treatment systems, and utilities.
\nPlan equipment upgrades, spare parts availability, and shutdown schedules.
\nEnsure optimal utilization and long-term care of plant assets.<\/p>\n
Cost Control & Budget Management<\/p>\n
Prepare and manage plant budgets and operating costs.
\nControl expenses related to utilities, raw materials, chemicals, packaging, and labour.
\nMonitor production efficiency, yield, and cost per unit.
\nIdentify and implement cost-saving and productivity improvement initiatives.<\/p>\n
Inventory & Supply Chain Coordination<\/p>\n
Oversee inventory levels of raw water sources, chemicals, bottles, caps, labels, and spare parts.
\nCoordinate with procurement and logistics teams to ensure uninterrupted production.
\nEnsure proper storage, FIFO practices, and stock accuracy.<\/p>\n
Regulatory & Stakeholder Coordination<\/p>\n
Liaise with regulatory authorities, auditors, inspectors, and certification bodies.
\nEnsure timely renewal of licenses, permits, and certifications.
\nSupport internal and external audits and inspections.
\nCoordinate with head office, sales, logistics, and distribution teams.<\/p>\n
Reporting & Continuous Improvement<\/p>\n
Prepare and submit regular production, quality, safety, and cost reports to management.
\nAnalyse KPIs and operational data to drive continuous improvement.
\nLead process optimization, efficiency improvement, and capacity expansion projects.
\nImplement best practices and new technologies in water production.<\/p>\n
People Management & Development<\/p>\n
Lead, supervise, and develop production, quality, maintenance, and support teams.
\nConduct regular performance reviews and identify the team\u2019s technical and skill-development training needs.
\nPromote discipline, teamwork, and a strong safety and quality culture.
\nManage disciplinary measures and grievance procedures in line with company policy to ensure a motivated workforce.<\/p>\n
Experience & Qualifications:
\nFirst Degree or Master\u2019s Degree in Mechanical\/Industrial\/Electrical \/Food Engineering or related field of studies with a minimum of 8 years experience, of which at least 3 years in a managerial or plant leadership role (Experience in FMCG, beverage bottling, or plastic\/PET extrusion plants is highly preferred)
