The Accounting Manager will oversee the full spectrum of accounting operations, ensuring accurate and timely recording of financial transactions and compliance with applicable standards and internal policies. This role will manage accounts payable (creditors), accounts receivable, and other tasks signed by immediate supervisor, and will play a key role in the month-end closing process and preparation of financial reports.
\nKey Responsibilities:
\n1. General Accounting & Reporting<\/p>\n
Oversee day-to-day accounting operations and ensure the integrity of financial data.
\nLead the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring all entries are posted on time.
\nPrepare accurate and timely financial reports and analysis as required.
\nEnsure compliance with local accounting standards, IFRS , tax regulations, and internal policies.<\/p>\n
2. Accounts Payable (Creditors)<\/p>\n
Manage the end-to-end accounts payable process including invoice review, posting, and payments.
\nEnsure timely and accurate reconciliation of vendor accounts.
\nMonitor and manage vendor contracts, payment terms, and aging balances.
\nReview and approve payment and ensure alignment with cash flow planning
\nCoordinate with procurement and warehouse teams to validate GRNs and resolve invoice discrepancies and ensure 3 way matching is always maintained.
\nEnsure proper accruals for unpaid expenses and vendor liabilities at month-end.
\nFollow up and monitor goods-in-transit (GIT) purchases to ensure timely receipt and proper accounting treatment.
\nMaintain the fixed asset register and ensure accurate capitalization, depreciation, and disposals.<\/p>\n
3. Accounts Receivable<\/p>\n
Oversee customer invoicing and collections process.
\nMonitor receivables aging and follow up with sales and customers on overdue balances.
\nEnsure proper revenue recognition and bad debt provisioning.
\nConduct regular reconciliations between customer subledger and general ledger.
\nImplement and monitor credit control procedures in line with company policy.
\nWork closely with the commercial\/sales team to resolve disputes, claims, or deductions.<\/p>\n
4. Team Management & Internal Controls<\/p>\n
Supervise, guide, and develop the accounting team.
\nStrengthen internal controls and continuously improve accounting processes.
\nSupport internal and external audits by providing timely and accurate documentation.<\/p>\n
About You<\/p>\n
Bachelor\u2019s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
\nMinimum 5 years of experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
\nSolid knowledge of IFRS and local tax laws.
\nExperience with accounting systems (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics, or similar ERP).
\nStrong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
