\nHST is a knowledge company operating in Ethiopia, which provides a broad range of professional services to clients across various industries. Daye Bensa Business Group has engaged HST to support the recruitment for the position of Finance Director.
\nThe Finance Director is expected to provide strategic financial leadership and oversee the financial health, governance, and performance of multiple companies within the group to support the successful achievement of Daye Bensa Business Group\u2019s objectives.
\nKey Duties and Responsibilities:<\/p>\n
Strategic Leadership & Financial Planning
\nStrategic Planning & Advisory: Develop and execute financial strategies aligned with the group\u2019s long-term objectives and vision.
\nFinancial Modelling & Forecasting: Oversee long-term financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes to support strategic decision-making.
\nCapital Structure & Allocation: Optimize the group\u2019s capital structure, including debt, equity, and investment allocation to high-return projects.<\/p>\n
Group Financial Reporting & Control<\/p>\n
Group Consolidation & Reporting: Ensure timely and accurate preparation of consolidated monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for the board and stakeholders.
\nFinancial Control Framework: Establish and enforce robust internal controls, policies, and procedures across subsidiaries to safeguard group assets.
\nAudit & Compliance: Lead internal and external audits and ensure compliance with IFRS, GAAP, and local statutory requirements.<\/p>\n
Treasury & Risk Management<\/p>\n
Liquidity Management: Ensure adequate cash flow and access to financing to support operational requirements
\nRisk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate financial risks, including currency, interest rate, and credit risks.
\nBanking Relationships: Manage relationships with banks, financial institutions, and investors.<\/p>\n
Commercial Performance & Growth<\/p>\n
Performance Analysis: Analyze financial performance, identify cost efficiencies, and provide recommendations to improve profitability.
\nM&A Support: Coordinate corporate finance activities, including mergers, acquisitions, and divestments.
\nCommercial Insights: Provide business intelligence and financial insights to support revenue growth and operational efficiency.<\/p>\n
Team Leadership & Governance<\/p>\n
Finance Function Management: Lead, mentor, and develop the group\u2019s finance and accounting teams.
\nTax Strategy: Oversee corporate tax planning and ensure compliance with applicable tax regulations across jurisdictions.
\nIT & Systems Strategy: Oversee the implementation and maintenance of group-wide financial systems, including ERP platforms.<\/p>\n
About You<\/p>\n
Required Education, Experience and Competencies:
\nMaster\u2019s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
\nMinimum of 12 years of relevant professional experience, including at least 6 years in a senior finance leadership role (CFO, VP Finance, or equivalent), with experience leading a finance function in a multi-billion Birr revenue organization and exposure to group consolidation and multi-subsidiary operations.
\nRequired Competencies<\/p>\n
In-depth knowledge of corporate finance, risk management, financial analysis, and financial systems\/software.
\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.
\nProven leadership and people management capabilities.
\nStrong decision-making ability aligned with business objectives.
\nAbility to oversee group consolidation, intercompany controls, and board\/stakeholder reporting across multiple subsidiaries.
\nAbility to foster collaboration and teamwork across functions.<\/p>\n
