ERCS has been operating in Ethiopia since July 8, 1935, working in humanitarian and development interventions. It is an auxiliary to the government, working with partners such as IFRC, ICRC, and various National Societies.<br \/>\nPosition Details<\/p>\n<p>Job Title: ERCS-SRC Migration Zonal Project Coordinator<br \/>\nProject: ERCS-Swedish RC Migration Project<br \/>\nWork Unit: Zonal Branch<br \/>\nReports to: Zonal Branch head\/ Program Manager<br \/>\nPlace of Work: Oromia Region: Jimma Zonal Branch<br \/>\nSalary: Branch Scale<br \/>\nTerms of Employment: 12 months with the possibility of an extension<br \/>\nNumber of required:- 1 (One) for Jimma Zone<\/p>\n<p>Job Summary<br \/>\nThe Zonal ERCS\u2013Swedish Red Cross Migration Project Coordinator, under the supervision of the Regional Branch Head and with technical support from the ERCS HQ ERCS\u2013SRC Migration Project Coordinator, will be responsible for the overall coordination, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of the ERCS\u2013Swedish Red Cross Migration Project funded by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida).<br \/>\nThe project aims to address the humanitarian and recovery needs of vulnerable returnees and host communities in Oromia Region Jimma Zone. The intervention focuses on promoting safe, dignified, and sustainable reintegration through integrated services including livelihoods support, Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS), protection, social cohesion, and community resilience initiatives implemented under the Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) Department of the Ethiopian Red Cross Society (ERCS).<br \/>\nReturnees often face multiple challenges including loss of livelihoods, unemployment, psychosocial distress, social exclusion, family separation, stigma, inadequate access to basic services, and limited economic opportunities upon return. Host communities are also increasingly affected by resource constraints, unemployment, and social tensions arising from increased population pressure. In response, ERCS, through its community-based humanitarian approach and extensive volunteer network, works to strengthen resilience, enhance social cohesion, improve access to basic services, and support vulnerable populations in restoring dignity, self-reliance, and social inclusion.<br \/>\nAll project activities shall be implemented through established ERCS structures and guided by the Fundamental Principles and humanitarian values of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement. The Project Coordinator will ensure effective implementation of project activities in compliance with ERCS policies and procedures, donor requirements, operational plans, and humanitarian standards. The position holder will provide technical guidance, coordination, and operational support to project staff, volunteers, and target branches to ensure quality and timely implementation of activities.<br \/>\nKey Responsibilities<\/p>\n<p>Coordinate and oversee the overall implementation of project activities at zonal level in line with approved work plans, budgets, and donor requirements.<br \/>\nEnsure timely planning, implementation, monitoring, documentation, and reporting of project activities.<br \/>\nStrengthen coordination and collaboration with local government offices, community structures, humanitarian actors, and other relevant stakeholders.<br \/>\nSupervise, mentor, and provide technical support to zonal project staff and volunteers.<br \/>\nEnsure the integration of protection, MHPSS, livelihoods, community engagement, accountability, and social cohesion approaches across all project interventions.<br \/>\nMonitor project progress against targets, indicators, and implementation plans, and recommend corrective actions where necessary.<br \/>\nPrepare quality narrative reports, work plans, success stories, activity updates, and other required project documents in a timely manner.<br \/>\nSupport community participation, accountability to affected populations (AAP), safeguarding, and community feedback and complaint mechanisms.<br \/>\nEnsure proper utilization, management, and documentation of project resources in compliance with ERCS and donor financial and administrative procedures.<br \/>\nFacilitate capacity-building activities, trainings, and awareness sessions for staff, volunteers, and community groups.<br \/>\nPromote Red Cross and Red Crescent Fundamental Principles, humanitarian values, safeguarding standards, and protection mainstreaming throughout project implementation.<br \/>\nRepresent ERCS in zonal coordination meetings, forums, and relevant technical working groups related to migration, protection, DRR, and resilience programming.<br \/>\nSupport data collection, assessments, beneficiary targeting, and monitoring and evaluation activities conducted under the project.<\/p>\n<p>Language<\/p>\n<p>Fluency in English (spoken and written).<br \/>\nFluency in Amharic (spoken and written).<br \/>\nKnowledge of local languages relevant to the project areas is an added advantage.<\/p>\n<p>About You<\/p>\n<p>Education<\/p>\n<p>BA or Master\u2019s Degree in Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, Anthropology, Community Development, Conflict Management, Development Studies, or other related Social Science fields.<\/p>\n<p>Experience and Knowledge<\/p>\n<p>Minimum of 7 years for BA holders and 5 years for Master\u2019s Degree holders of relevant professional experience in humanitarian organizations, NGOs, or development programs.<br \/>\nDemonstrated experience in migration, displacement, social cohesion, resilience, or community-based programming.<br \/>\nExperience working with displaced populations including returnees, internally displaced persons (IDPs), refugees, and host communities.<br \/>\nAt least 5 years of proven project management and coordination experience.<br \/>\nStrong leadership, organizational, communication, coordination, and advocacy skills.<br \/>\nStrong interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills with the ability to build effective collaboration with partners, communities, government stakeholders, and donor agencies.<br \/>\nProven experience in project planning, monitoring, reporting, evaluation, and documentation.<br \/>\nStrong facilitation, training, and mentoring skills, including knowledge of adult learning methodologies.<br \/>\nExperience in supervision, coaching, and team management.<br \/>\nGood analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks.<br \/>\nProficiency in computer applications including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).<br \/>\nAbility to work independently and remotely when required, including through online communication platforms and
