\nJob Summary
\nThe Material Planning & Purchasing Officer is responsible for managing the procurement processes, controlling inventory levels, and collaborating with suppliers to ensure cost-effective sourcing of materials. This role plays a critical part in ensuring that production runs smoothly and efficiently by maintaining the necessary inventory levels and optimizing material usage across the organization.
\nKey Responsibilities:
\n1. Supplier Sourcing and Negotiation:<\/p>\n
Identify and evaluate potential suppliers based on quality, price, and reliability to meet material requirements.
\nNegotiate contracts and pricing agreements with suppliers to secure favorable terms and conditions.
\nConduct regular supplier assessments and audits to ensure compliance with company standards and industry regulations.
\nDevelop and maintain a comprehensive supplier database, including performance metrics and historical data.<\/p>\n
2. Procurement Management:<\/p>\n
Oversee the procurement process from requisition to delivery, ensuring timely and cost-effective sourcing of materials.
\nPlace purchase orders based on material requirements from the production schedule, ensuring alignment with production timelines.
\nMonitor supplier performance and resolve any issues related to material quality, delivery schedules, and payment terms.
\nEnsure that procurement activities comply with internal policies and regulatory requirements.<\/p>\n
3. Inventory Control and Optimization:<\/p>\n
Control and optimize inventory levels by implementing effective inventory management practices to prevent stock outs and overstock situations.
\nCollaborate with the production team to determine material requirements based on production forecasts and schedules.
\nAnalyze inventory turnover rates and implement strategies to reduce excess inventory and minimize holding costs<\/p>\n
4. Relationship Management:<\/p>\n
Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to facilitate effective communication and collaboration.
\nAct as the primary point of contact for suppliers, addressing any inquiries or concerns promptly and professionally.
\nFoster long-term partnerships with suppliers to enhance service levels and support cost-saving initiatives.<\/p>\n
6. Reporting and Analysis:<\/p>\n
Prepare and present regular reports on procurement activities, inventory levels, and supplier performance to the Production Manager.
\nAnalyze purchasing trends and material costs to identify opportunities for savings and process improvements.
\nMaintain accurate records of procurement transactions, inventory levels, and supplier communications for auditing and compliance purposes.<\/p>\n
7. Continuous Improvement:<\/p>\n
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance procurement processes and inventory management practices.
\nStay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and best practices in supply chain management to implement innovative solutions.
\nConduct root cause analysis on procurement or inventory issues and implement corrective actions as necessary.<\/p>\n

Qualification
\nExperience Required<\/p>\n
Minimum of 1 years of experience in material control, procurement, or supply chain management
\nProven track record of successfully managing supplier relationships and optimizing inventory levels.<\/p>\n
Education Required<\/p>\n
Bachelor\u2019s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.<\/p>\n
Skills Required<\/p>\n
Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with suppliers and internal teams.
\nExcellent organizational and time management abilities to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines effectively.
\nProficient in using inventory management and procurement software, as well as MS Office applications.
