Role Purpose<\/p>\n
\tThe HR Assistant will provide administrative and operational support to the Human Resources function, ensuring efficient HR processes, accurate employee records, and compliance with labor laws and internal policies within a school environment.<\/p>\n
Job Description<\/p>\n
HR Administration<\/p>\n
\tMaintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, personnel files, and HR databases
\n\tPrepare HR documentation including employment contracts, letters, confirmations, and certificates
\n\tManage staff attendance, leave records, and time-off schedules<\/p>\n
Recruitment & Onboarding<\/p>\n
\tSupport recruitment processes including job postings, shortlisting coordination, and interview scheduling
\n\tAssist with onboarding and induction of new staff
\n\tEnsure all pre-employment documentation is completed and filed<\/p>\n
Payroll & Benefits Support<\/p>\n
\tPrepare and submit payroll inputs such as attendance, leave, overtime, and deductions
\n\tSupport payroll processing and respond to payroll-related queries
\n\tAssist with statutory compliance including NSSF, NHIF\/SHA, PAYE, and other deductions<\/p>\n
Employee Relations<\/p>\n
\tSupport handling of employee queries and HR correspondence
\n\tAssist in disciplinary processes by preparing documentation and scheduling hearings
\n\tPromote adherence to HR policies and staff code of conduct<\/p>\n
Compliance & Reporting<\/p>\n
\tEnsure compliance with Kenyan labour laws and internal HR policies
\n\tSupport HR audits and inspections
\n\tPrepare HR reports as required<\/p>\n
General HR Support<\/p>\n
\tCoordinate staff training and development activities
\n\tSupport staff welfare initiatives
\n\tPerform any other HR-related duties as assigned<\/p>\n
Job Requirements<\/p>\n
\tDiploma or Bachelor\u2019s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related field
\n\tAt least 1\u20132 years\u2019 HR experience (experience in a school or education environment is an added advantage)
\n\tKnowledge of Kenyan labour laws and HR best practices
\n\tProficiency in MS Office applications<\/p>\n
