We are actively recruiting an Agronomist to support our client, a leading international development partner implementing a donor-funded programme, for an upcoming green project based in Baringo County. The role will support community-based, climate-smart, and regenerative agriculture interventions aimed at sustainable land and natural resource management.<\/p>\n
Location: Baringo County<\/p>\n
Key Responsibilities:<\/p>\n
\tProvide technical leadership on sustainable agriculture, agroecology, and climate-smart farming practices
\n\tSupport community mobilisation, awareness raising, and consensus-building with farmers and local stakeholders
\n\tDesign and facilitate training sessions for farmers and county staff, including workshops and field demonstrations
\n\tSupport rangeland management, rotational grazing systems, tree planting, nursery establishment, and management activities
\n\tProvide technical guidance on soil and water conservation and erosion control practices
\n\tSupport implementation of agroforestry, horticulture, coffee, and forestry-related initiatives
\n\tContribute to value chain development for agricultural and non-timber forest products and nature-based supply chains
\n\tSupport monitoring of agricultural interventions and contribute to high-quality technical and narrative reports
\n\tCollaborate with contractors and project teams to ensure alignment between technical design and field implementation
\n\tContribute to regenerative agriculture and carbon-related project components, where applicable<\/p>\n
Qualifications & Skills:<\/p>\n
\tAdvanced proficiency in English and Swahili
\n\tBachelor\u2019s degree in Agricultural Sciences, Food Systems, Agricultural Economics, Forestry, Agroforestry, or a related field
\n\tStrong background in community development and participatory approaches
\n\tProven facilitation and training skills for farmers and county-level staff
\n\tDemonstrated expertise in rangeland management, rotational grazing, nursery establishment, soil and water conservation
\n\tStrong communication and technical reporting skills
\n\tProven experience in agroecology and climate-smart agricultural practices
\n\tExperience in regenerative agriculture
\n\tKnowledge and experience in carbon trade or carbon-related agricultural projects
\n\tExperience in value chain development for agricultural or non-timber forest products
\n\tA Minimum of 5 years\u2019 professional experience working on sustainable agriculture projects\u00a0 (soil, water, and germplasm management).<\/p>\n
