{"id":89565,"date":"2026-01-13T08:02:55","date_gmt":"2026-01-13T08:02:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jobs.dataaxisnode.com\/kenya\/job\/government-relations-specialist\/"},"modified":"2026-04-13T00:08:20","modified_gmt":"2026-04-13T00:08:20","slug":"government-relations-specialist","status":"expired","type":"job_listing","link":"https:\/\/jobs.dataaxisnode.com\/kenya\/?post_type=job_listing&p=89565","title":{"rendered":"Government Relations Specialist"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>What you will do: Government Engagement &amp; Relationship Management <\/p>\n<p>\tLead government relations, engagements, and negotiations at the county level in Kenya, as well as with relevant national government departments.<br \/>\n\tMap out, reach out to, and engage key government stakeholders to support EIDU\u2019s expansion to new counties and to strengthen national-level relationships.<br \/>\n\tBuild and maintain long-term, strategic relationships with senior county officials, county education boards, ministries, and technical officers.<br \/>\n\tSupport and represent EIDU during multistakeholder forums, workshops, and county or national education events.<\/p>\n<p>Stakeholder Coordination &amp; Communication <\/p>\n<p>\tCoordinate all communication between EIDU and government officials to ensure clarity and consistency.<br \/>\n\tPlan and execute stakeholder sessions, government workshops, and public events with county and national government stakeholders.<br \/>\n\tHelp establish short- and long-term goals, policies, and operating procedures for the government relations function.<\/p>\n<p>Policy Influence &amp; Budget Integration <\/p>\n<p>\tInfluence the inclusion of digital learning in county planning and budgeting processes (CIDPs, ADPs, education sector plans).<br \/>\n\tProvide advisory support to management on county budgeting cycles, timelines, and relevant policy shifts.<\/p>\n<p>Operational Support &amp; Cross-functional Collaboration <\/p>\n<p>\tSupport procurement processes, ensuring compliance with county and national frameworks.<br \/>\n\tCoordinate government engagement activities with country operations teams to ensure effective program delivery across counties.<br \/>\n\tManage calendars, meeting logistics, and cross-functional communication as needed.<br \/>\n\tConduct county-level or regional research and contribute to reports that support strategic decision-making.<\/p>\n<p>Monitoring, Reporting &amp; Database Management <\/p>\n<p>\tCreate and maintain a dynamic database of key influencers, decision-makers, and stakeholders within Kenya\u2019s education ecosystem.<br \/>\n\tMonitor engagement plans and ensure follow-through on government commitments and action points.<br \/>\n\tSupport the Government Relations &amp; Corporate Affairs Manager to coordinate activities across counties when needed.<\/p>\n<p>General <\/p>\n<p>\tPerform additional tasks as required to support the Government Relations team and Kenya country operations.<\/p>\n<p>What you should bring: <\/p>\n<p>\tThe desire to use your skills to bring about positive social change for children across the world.<br \/>\n\tMinimum of 5 years of experience in government relations, government program delivery, stakeholder engagement, account management, or a similar field.<br \/>\n\tBachelor\u2019s degree in communications, public relations, political science, sociology, community development, international relations, or another relevant field.<br \/>\n\tStrong knowledge of Kenya\u2019s county government structures, education governance, and public administration.<br \/>\n\tExperience working with or within the Ministry of Education (national or county level) is a strong advantage.<br \/>\n\tProven experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder relationships and ensuring high-quality program delivery.<br \/>\n\tExcellent interpersonal and advocacy skills, with proven ability to support negotiations and prepare clear, high-quality briefs and insights.<br \/>\n\tExcellent oral and written communication skills with strong report-writing proficiency.<br \/>\n\tStrong administrative, planning, and organisational skills. The conditions for this are different in every family: Some children have their own tablet and can choose from dozens of apps and games. Many parents and grandparents are uncertain if and how much use of digital media is beneficial for children, and at what age and they want to keep an eye on what their children are doing on the devices.
