Job Summary<\/p>\n
TecFlax Solutions Limited seeking a motivated Linux System Engineer to design, deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot Linux-based infrastructure. The candidate must hold at least LPIC-1 (Linux Administrator) certification. You will work with cloud platforms, automation tools, monitoring systems, and security best practices to ensure high availability and performance.<\/p>\n
Key Responsibilities<\/p>\n
\tInstall, configure, and manage Linux servers (CentOS\/RHEL, Ubuntu, Debian, or similar) in on\u2011prem and cloud environments.
\n\tPerform system hardening, patching, and kernel tuning.
\n\tAutomate provisioning and configuration using tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Terraform.
\n\tMonitor system health and performance; respond to incidents and perform root-cause analysis.
\n\tManage storage, backup, and recovery solutions.
\n\tImplement and maintain security controls, user and permission management, and audit logging.
\n\tOptimize services (web, database, container runtime) for reliability and scalability.
\n\tMaintain documentation: runbooks, architecture diagrams, SOPs.
\n\tCollaborate with developers, network, and security teams on deployments and troubleshooting.
\n\tParticipate in on-call rotation as required.<\/p>\n
Required Qualifications:<\/p>\n
\tBachelor\u2019s degree or diploma in IT, Computer Science, Computer\/Electrical\/Telecommunication Engineering or related field or related field.\u00a0
\n\tLPIC-1 (Linux Administrator) certification \u2014 mandatory (proof required).
\n\t2+ years of hands-on Linux systems administration experience.
\n\tStrong shell scripting skills (Bash, Python, or similar).
\n\tExperience with system monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK\/EFK, Nagios, Zabbix, etc.).
\n\tSolid understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP\/IP, firewalls, routing).
\n\tExperience with virtualization\/container technologies (KVM, VMware, Docker, Kubernetes basics).
\n\tFamiliarity with configuration management and IaC tools (Ansible, Terraform, Puppet, Chef).
\n\tGood problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.<\/p>\n
Preferred Qualifications:<\/p>\n
\tLPIC-2 or other advanced Linux certification.
\n\tExperience with public cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
\n\tExperience with CI\/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions).
\n\tExperience with security frameworks and compliance (CIS, PCI, GDPR).
\n\tFamiliarity with database administration (MySQL, PostgreSQL).<\/p>\n
Compensation & Benefits:<\/p>\n
\tCompetitive salary (dependent on experience, range between KES. 70,000 to KES. 90,000).
