To provide direct support to the Senior Manager – Risk & Internal Audit in undertaking audits of all systems against applicable laws, legislation, regulations, company policies and procedures in accordance with the Department\u2019s audit charter and audit plans.<\/p>\n
Job Details<\/p>\n
\tAssist the Senior Manager – Risk & Internal Audit in the implementation of a strong system of internal controls and procedures that will ensure major risks to the company are identified and analyzed.\u00a0
\n\tAssist in the undertaking of depot visits and spot checks as required.\u00a0
\n\tAssist in the analysis and evaluation of the accuracy of accounting systems and procedures. Work with the Senior Manager – Risk & Internal Audit in preparing audit working papers in accordance with standards and requirements.\u00a0
\n\tProvide support to the Senior Manager – Risk & Internal Audit in the review of accounting systems and controls to be in line with standards and the relevant legislation.\u00a0
\n\tConduct research on governance policies and procedures to inform the recommendations and decision-making.\u00a0
\n\tCheck and verify the accuracy and integrity of accounting ledgers as directed by the Senior Manager – Risk & Internal Audit
\n\tAssist in the preparation of reports on audit exercises and submit with recommendations in accordance with the requirements.\u00a0
\n\tAssist in the follow-up of management\u2019s responses to audit recommendations.\u00a0
\n\tAssist the Senior Manager – Risk & Internal Audit in special projects including fraud investigations and process re-engineering teams in response to emerging business risks.\u00a0
\n\tPerforms any other duties related to the job function as may be assigned by the Senior Manager – Risk & Internal Audit or the MD<\/p>\n
Requirements<\/p>\n
\tDemonstrated good and consistent performance in\u00a0audit assignments.\u00a0
\n\tProficiency in the use of an accounting information system, Microsoft Suite packages and data analytical tools\u00a0
\n\tGood communication skills in English and Kiswahili, presentation and report writing skills.\u00a0
\n\tGood interpersonal, networking, and relationship building skills.\u00a0
\n\tProactive self-starter and effective team player who works with minimal supervision.\u00a0
\n\tHave excellent planning, organizational and time management skills: a positive attitude, hands-on approach and able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.\u00a0
\n\tStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to pay attention to details.\u00a0
\n\tHave a high degree of integrity, diplomacy and corporate spirit
\n\tAt least 1-2 years’ experience at an Audit Assistant level
\n\tBachelor\u2019s degree in a business-related field\u00a0
\n\tRelevant Professional Qualification (CPA, CIA, CISA, CFE)<\/p>\n
