Key Responsibilities:<\/p>\n
\tAssist with originations of deal flow and investment opportunities
\n\tAssume an investment execution and investment responsibility role within the team
\n\tBuild and maintain strong relationships with clients, external service providers and all internal stakeholders
\n\tEvaluate, structure, negotiate and develop investment opportunities to close in accordance with the AIIM policies procedures and relevant good practice
\n\tTake ownership of investment committee slide decks
\n\tDevelop innovative and appropriate financial structures for complex transactions
\n\tBuild out and\/or provide oversight of project finance models
\n\tConduct risk analysis and review of financial statements and valuations
\n\tProvide oversight of bid documents and presentations
\n\tApply industry\/product knowledge to contribute meaningfully to deal origination and ongoing asset management
\n\tIdentify and escalate any relevant transaction dynamics to Fund Head
\n\tActively engage with AIIM asset management and operations teams, including ESG, in term of deal execution requirements and see those through
\n\tEngage in fundraising activities including preparation of materials, joining meetings and investor diligence trips, and ongoing reporting to investors
\n\tBe an active and value-adding participant in deal meetings and proactively pick up work generated in those meetings
\n\tBe an active and value-adding member of the team in general
\n\tManage the analysts\/associates in the team such that they can develop to their full potential<\/p>\n
Skills & Experience <\/p>\n
\tRelevant Qualification (e.g. Honours Financial or Engineering degree)
\n\tSignificant international experience in climate investing plus transaction experience in Africa \u2013 5+ years of direct deal doing experience and \/ or working in a relevant climate business development organization
\n\tDemonstrable passion for early-stage business development in the climate space
\n\tWell networked, with solid relationships in order to set up for origination work \u2013 bankers, lawyers, advisors
\n\tFinancial acumen \u2013 the capacity to demonstrate knowledge of and insight into financial principles and processes and identify inconsistencies in data
\n\tGood working knowledge of key commercial statutes and regulations as well as a general commercial orientation
\n\tExcellent verbal and written communication skills
\n\tCritical thinking and problem-solving skills
\n\tDemonstrable organisational, planning and prioritising skills
\n\tStrong financial analysis and modelling skills
\n\tStrong attention to detail, with a high level of accuracy and ability to perform under pressure
\n\tWell-developed project management skills\/ability to see projects completed<\/p>\n
