To assist the Chef de Partie in managing a designated kitchen section, ensuring high standards of food preparation, quality, hygiene, and timely service, while developing technical and leadership skills in a professional kitchen environment.<\/p>\n
Food Preparation & Service<\/p>\n
\tAssist the Chef de Partie in the daily operation of the assigned kitchen section.
\n\tPrepare, cook, and present dishes according to approved recipes and presentation standards.
\n\tEnsure mise en place is prepared accurately and on time for service.
\n\tSupport smooth service during peak periods in both \u00e0 la carte and banqueting operations.<\/p>\n
Operational Support<\/p>\n
\tFollow instructions from the Chef de Partie and Sous Chef to ensure efficient kitchen workflow.
\n\tAssist in plating and service execution, maintaining consistency and quality.
\n\tAdapt to menu changes, guest dietary requirements, and special requests.<\/p>\n
Teamwork & Development<\/p>\n
\tSupervise and guide Commis Chefs and kitchen assistants when required.
\n\tSupport training of junior staff on basic cooking techniques and hygiene standards.
\n\tPromote teamwork, discipline, and a positive working environment.<\/p>\n
Hygiene, Health & Safety<\/p>\n
\tAdhere strictly to food safety, hygiene, and HACCP standards.
\n\tEnsure correct food storage, labeling, and stock rotation (FIFO).
\n\tMaintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, equipment, and kitchen areas.<\/p>\n
Cost Control & Stock Handling<\/p>\n
\tMinimize food waste through proper handling and portion control.
\n\tAssist in stock requisitions, inventory checks, and daily usage reporting.
\n\tReport shortages, damages, or equipment issues promptly.<\/p>\n
Qualifications<\/p>\n
\tCertificate or Diploma in Culinary Arts or Professional Cookery.
\n\tMinimum\u00a01\u20133 years\u2019 experience\u00a0in a professional kitchen.
\n\tExperience in the same role\u00a0in a hotel or reputable restaurant.
\n\tExposure to \u00e0 la carte and\/or banqueting operations is an advantage.<\/p>\n
