About the role<\/p>\n
\tBURN is looking for a\u00a0Logistics Officer, Bonds and Customs\u00a0to lead in duty remission reconciliation per applicable laws and regulations. The successful candidate will work closely with the Supply Chain Manager and will be well versed with Custom systems procedures, import and export documentation, logistics and operations.<\/p>\n
Duties and Responsibilities<\/p>\n
\tPrepare an annual plan for duty remission based on sales forecast.
\n\tUpdate and maintain a log of raw material utilisation as per exports done.
\n\tMaintain a log of actual exports based on quantities on export entries.
\n\tEnsure proper record keeping of all related documents, including Duty Remission, inbound items, and clearing documentation from KRA.
\n\tPrepare bonds for submission and approval by the insurance company.
\n\tEnsure approved bonds are lodged by KRA and bond numbers are issued.
\n\tArrange for the collection of original bond documents from KRA and submit to the clearing agent for lodging of import entries.
\n\tMaintain filing system for Duty Remission and VAT exemption documents as required by law (C56\/60, Bonds, Import entries, Export Entries, C17 tracker).
\n\tShare weekly report on duty remissions applied\/approved vs all material imports received.
\n\tUpdate and maintain a tracker\/log for all approved duty remission schemes and reconciliations.
\n\tLead in duty remission reconciliation and provide all supporting documents for presentation to KRA.
\n\tFollow up with insurance companies for a refund of premiums paid for duty remission (and VAT Exemption where need be).
\n\tAny other jobs assigned by your supervisor.<\/p>\n
Skills and Experience<\/p>\n
\tDiploma Level or higher in a Procurement or Logistics Discipline.
\n\tStrong Excel Skills.
\n\tExperience in Customs system and procedures.
\n\tExperience in handling import and export documentation.
\n\tExperience in handling Duty Remission applications and reconciliation.
\n\t3 years\u2019 experience in Logistics and Operations.
\n\tExperience in ERP systems \u2013 preferably Microsoft NAV.
\n\tDetail-oriented and highly organised.<\/p>\n
