Additionally, this position will include knowledge of utilization review rules and regulations as they assist physicians and staff in assigning admission status.<\/p>\n<p>Duties and Responsibilities<\/p>\n<p>\tPromote the mission, vision, and values of the organization<br \/>\n\tAssess patient care requirements on each unit, by making rounds in the Emergency Department (ED), and all other areas of the hospital (according to departmental need\/activity)<br \/>\n\tAssess the acuity of care required by patient the patients in relations to staffing arrangements and nursing ratios.<br \/>\n\tDevelop and implement staffing plan for shift based on patient acuity, patient census and available staff.<br \/>\n\tServe as a resource to staff for solving clinical problems.<br \/>\n\tAssist staff to efficiently utilize staffing resources to meet patient care requirements and other professional responsibilities.<br \/>\n\tProvide for immediate follow-up, documentation, and communication of incidents to appropriate manager and director.<br \/>\n\tRespond to emergency situations (Rapid Response Team, Code Blue) and assists as necessary.<br \/>\n\tAct as a resource in identifying and\/or solving administrative\/operational problems to the clinical staff<br \/>\n\tProactively anticipate actual\/potential problems that may occur on their shift and sets shift priorities accordingly.<br \/>\n\tWork collaboratively with nursing and allied staff to solve problems in a fair, consistent manner.<br \/>\n\tContact representatives of departments not presently in the hospital for assistance with problem solving, timely and appropriately where need be.<br \/>\n\tAct as a resource, interpret and ensure adherence to AAR Hospital and nursing philosophy, policies, and procedures.<br \/>\n\tReport to the administrator-on-call significant incidents and problems such as unusual patient or family problems or concerns, physician concerns, borrowing or lending of major equipment, major damage or utility outages, security problems and safety issues<br \/>\n\tObtain materials\/supplies from the stores for patient care when these departments are not open at night.<br \/>\n\tProvide support, guidance, and feedback to staff:<br \/>\n\tIdentify and communicate staff needs for continuing education to the Head of Nursing<br \/>\n\tConsistently and independently follows established safety and infection control procedures. Intervenes in unsafe situations.<br \/>\n\tMeet or exceed expectations of individuals for whom service is provided.<br \/>\n\tAssist physicians and staff in admission criteria for assigning admission status to patients (observation\/admission)<br \/>\n\tProvide a high level of professional and clinical leadership for nursing practice round the clock<br \/>\n\tEnhance and evaluate nursing practice according to hospital policies, protocols and guidelines, and another regulatory requirement<br \/>\n\tAdhere and contribute to the development and maintenance of nursing standards, protocols, and guidelines consistent with the highest standards of patient care<br \/>\n\tManage, monitor, and evaluate professional and clinical standards ensuring an evidence-based care planning approach<br \/>\n\tParticipate in teams as appropriate, communicating and working in co-operation with the other team members and the wider multi-disciplinary teams<br \/>\n\tFacilitate co-ordination, cooperation and liaison across health care teams and programmes<br \/>\n\tFormulate, manage, and implement best practice policies and procedures<br \/>\n\tEnsure that service users and others are treated with dignity and respect<br \/>\n\tEnsure timely documentation of nursing care in line with the policies, standards, protocols and procedures and professional requirements<br \/>\n\tUpdate patient records in the hospital HIMs systems and other hard copy records in line with services rendered<br \/>\n\tEnsure accurate billing and control cost in service delivery in collaboration with the teams<br \/>\n\tUnderstand professional practice, statutory and customer expectations and proactively achieve the same in-service delivery<br \/>\n\tAchieve requisite monthly, quarterly, and annual continuous professional development targets<br \/>\n\tMaintain prescribed level of competency in line assigned responsibilities and duties<br \/>\n\tParticipate in the appropriate and effective management of the hospital services<br \/>\n\tProvide innovative and effective leadership, support, and advice to nursing and allied staff at all levels<br \/>\n\tMaintain good employee relations and promote good communication with all relevant staff.<br \/>\n\tEnsure adherence to all standards and guidelines relating to professional nursing practice and behaviour<br \/>\n\tUndertake other relevant duties as may be determined from time to time by the Head of Nursing or other designated officer<\/p>\n<p>Qualifications<\/p>\n<p>Education<\/p>\n<p>\tHigher diploma, or Degree in nursing recognised by the Nursing Council of Kenya<br \/>\n\tLeadership and training in management is added advantage<\/p>\n<p>Professional Qualification<\/p>\n<p>\tUpdated BLS\/ACLS certificate<\/p>\n<p>Membership<\/p>\n<p>\tCurrent annual nurse practice license issued by the Nursing Council of Kenya<\/p>\n<p>Job Experience<\/p>\n<p>\tMinimum of 7 years\u2019 experience post registration by the Nursing Council, 5 of which are at senior Nurse or team leader position or similar role<\/p>\n<p>Key Competencies \u2013 Skills\/ Knowledge\/ Aptitude<\/p>\n<p>\tKnowledge of nursing services<br \/>\n\tStrong organizational and interpersonal skills<br \/>\n\tAbility to determine appropriate course of action in more complex situations<br \/>\n\tAbility to work independently, exercise creativity, be attentive to detail, and maintain a positive attitude<br \/>\n\tAbility to manage multiple and simultaneous responsibilities and to prioritize scheduling of work<br \/>\n\tAbility to maintain confidentiality of all medical, financial, and legal information<br \/>\n\tAbility to complete work assignments accurately and in a timely manner<br \/>\n\tAbility to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing<br \/>\n\tAbility to handle difficult situations involving patients, physicians, or others in a professional manner<br \/>\n\tBe aware of risk management issues, identify risks and take appropriate action<\/p>\n<p>go to method of application \u00bb<\/p>\n<p>To\u00a0send application letter and CV\u00a0ONLY\u00a0to\u00a0recruitment@aarhospital.com<\/p>\n<p>Apply Through:<\/p>\n<p>recruitment@aarhospital.com<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":0,"template":"","meta":{"_promoted":"","_job_location":"","_application":"http:\/\/recruitment@aarhospital.com","_company_name":"AAR Hospital","_company_website":"http:\/\/aarhospital.com\/","_company_tagline":"For over 30 years, people have trusted us with what matters most Inspired by our philosophy of embracing people as family, we continue to deliver quality healthcare for patients and their families Through Empathy, we are creating meaningful moments through every season of life.
