The Country Director will be accountable for executing Amref Health Africa in Kenya\u2019s 2023\u20132030 Strategic Plan and Sustainability Framework, ensuring delivery of systemic impact, diversified revenue, and innovative financing. This is a senior leadership role responsible for championing digital transformation, embedding data science and AI, and positioning Amref as a thought leader in the Primary Health Care\/Universal Health Coverage space.<\/p>\n
The job holder will report to the Board Chair of Amref Health Africa in Kenya, with a dotted line to the Group Programme Director (Amref HQ).<\/p>\n
Key Responsibilities<\/p>\n
\tCatalyse community-led PHC systems impact by strengthening PHC\/UHC outcomes, integrating social determinants and ESG excellence, and enabling government adoption and scale.
\n\tChampion digital transformation, data science, and AI to improve decision-making, programme performance, and health system efficiency through strong monitoring, evaluation, insight-focused analytics, and learning.
\n\tDeliver financial sustainability and resilience through disciplined financial management, compliance, cost efficiency, strengthened reserves, diversified revenue, and innovative\/blended financing for scale.
\n\tBuild a high-performing, values-led culture by leading and developing a diverse, accountable Senior Management Team, strengthening leadership pipelines, and improving staff engagement, wellbeing, and retention.
\n\tAmplify influence, visibility, and partnerships as Amref Health Africa in Kenya\u2019s principal spokesperson\u2014deepening government, donor, and private-sector partnerships; converting impact storytelling into policy influence and shaping discourse in the PHC\/UHC space.<\/p>\n
Qualifications & Experience<\/p>\n
\tBachelor\u2019s degree in a health\/health-related field and a Master\u2019s degree in public health, business administration, or a related field.
\n\tAt least 10 years\u2019 experience, with at least 5 years at senior management level in a comparable organisation.
\n\tProven track record in designing and scaling health systems interventions (PHC\/UHC).
\n\tDemonstrated success in strategic partnerships, fundraising, and digital transformation.
\n\tExperience managing multicultural teams and complex budgets.<\/p>\n
