The holder of this position is responsible for developing, enhancing, and overseeing the firm\u2019s financial management policies by monitoring robust financial reporting systems and developing mechanisms for cost-effectiveness. The CFO will provide strategic financial leadership, ensure the firm\u2019s financial health and supporting its long-term objectives. This position will have a dual reporting to the Africa Chief Financial Officer and the East Africa Chief Operating Officer.<\/p>\n
What you will do<\/p>\n
\tStrategic Leadership, Transformation & Innovation\u00a0– Lead the development and execution of finance strategies aligned with the firm\u2019s objectives, driving change initiatives, digital transformation, and the adoption of analytics, automation, and process improvements to enhance efficiency and insight.
\n\tFinancial Planning & Budgeting –\u00a0Oversee the preparation, management and control of annual budgets, capital structure and funding strategies, ensuring effective resource allocation and cost management.
\n\tFinancial Reporting & Analysis –\u00a0Ensure the timely and accurate preparation of management reports and financial statements to support informed decision-making by leadership.
\n\tFinancial Systems & Process Improvement –\u00a0Monitor, evaluate and enhance financial systems, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with accounting standards and best practices.
\n\tRisk Management & Compliance –\u00a0Oversee financial risk management, internal controls, insurance, and compliance with all relevant regulatory frameworks.
\n\tTax Strategy & Treasury Management –\u00a0Lead the firm\u2019s tax planning, compliance, and treasury management, including cross-border operations and regulatory considerations.
\n\tStakeholder Engagement\u00a0– Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders including Partners, Service Offering Leaders, clients, regulators, external auditors and the wider Deloitte network.
\n\tTalent Leadership & Succession Planning\u00a0– Identify, recruit, mentor and develop finance team members while maintaining robust succession plans for critical roles and fostering a culture of collaboration, inclusion, and ethical behaviour in line with Deloitte\u2019s values.
\n\tOperational Excellence\u00a0– Oversee accounts payable and receivable, expenditure controls and ensure financial transactions are properly authorized and documented.<\/p>\n
Qualifications<\/p>\n
\tA Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Finance, Business, or any other relevant field from a recognised institution. Master\u2019s degree is an added advantage.
\n\tProfessional accounting qualification (CPA\/ACCA).
\n\t10+ years\u2019 relevant work experience with at least 4 years\u2019 senior management experience in a busy finance function.
\n\tExperience working in a professional services firm will be an added advantage.<\/p>\n
