Key responsibilities for the role include:<\/p>\n
\tProvide a safe and secure environment for students to feel comfortable.
\n\tPlan and execute appropriate activities for the students each day according to the curriculum, schemes of work and lesson plans.
\n\tProvide a variety of materials and resources for students to explore, manipulate, and use, both in learning activities and in imaginative play.
\n\tInstruct and monitor students in the use and care of equipment and materials, in order to prevent injuries and damage.
\n\tOrganize and lead activities designed to promote physical, mental, and social development, such as games, arts and crafts, music, and storytelling.
\n\tPrepare materials, classrooms, and other indoor and outdoor spaces to facilitate creative play, learning and motor-skill activities, and safety.
\n\tObserve and evaluate each child\u2019s progress and provide a written report to the Principal through line manager(s) and other school leaders and parents.
\n\tMonitor and keep record\/ reports of the student\u2019s progress and development.
\n\tInstruct students individually and in groups, adapting teaching methods to meet students’ varying needs and interests.
\n\tAssimilate arriving students\u00a0to the school environment by greeting them and selecting activities of interest to them.
\n\tEstablish and enforce rules for behavior, and policies and procedures to maintain order among students.
\n\tAttended professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops in order to maintain and improve professional competence.
\n\tAssist in daily routine activities e.g. naptime, bus loading and off-loading, serving and supervising meals, bathroom breaks, play, parent pick-up\/drop-off etc.
\n\tKeep, maintain and regularly update professional records- Records of work covered, progress records , rubrics and students portfolios.
\n\tChaperone after-school clubs of interest or as assigned.
\n\tParticipate in character building and behaviour management.<\/p>\n
Role-specific responsibilities for a Music Coach include :<\/p>\n
\tAdminister Music Lessons under the Nova Pioneer Instructional Model in line with CBC requirements\u00a0
\n\tOversee and coordinate Music activities and projects in the school programme
\n\tPrepare Schemes of Work and design plans for Music lessons\u00a0
\n\tTeach individual lessons lasting between 30-45 minutes usually incorporating elements of general musicianship such as ear training and theory as well as instrumental technique and interpretation.
\n\tLiaise with Learning Design & Music Specialists in other NP Primary School campuses for alignment in instruction and learning of Music.\u00a0
\n\tSet relevant themes for school musical activities and programmes
\n\tPlan individual lessons and overall Schemes of Work for subscribing students
\n\tArrange lesson schedules and enter students for examinations.
\n\tDevelop your knowledge of materials and repertoire for students at different stages of their musical development.
\n\tCommunicate with the school and parents about the students\u2019 lessons and progress.
\n\tPrepare students for performances, examinations, auditions and festivals
\n\tOrganise Music\u00a0 events in and outside school and the school annual concert
\n\tMaintain and inventory of learning resources for Music
\n\tCoach Teammates who support in Music Lessons.<\/p>\n
About You<\/p>\n
Skills and Qualifications required:<\/p>\n
\tTSC certification and relevant Degree in Music.
\n\t3+ years of teaching experience in music.
\n\tYou are a great communicator. You are able to provide clear and effective written and verbal communication.
\n\tYou are flexible and open to change – you handle uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity well.
