{"id":92191,"date":"2026-03-10T12:02:14","date_gmt":"2026-03-10T12:02:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jobs.dataaxisnode.com\/kenya\/job\/data-and-product-design-manager\/"},"modified":"2026-03-10T12:02:55","modified_gmt":"2026-03-10T12:02:55","slug":"data-and-product-design-manager","status":"publish","type":"job_listing","link":"https:\/\/jobs.dataaxisnode.com\/kenya\/job\/data-and-product-design-manager\/","title":{"rendered":"Data And Product Design Manager"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Job Description<\/p>\n<p>\tThe Data and Product Design Manager will lead the day-to-day analysis and coordination that inform the design and continuous improvement of Aceli\u2019s financial incentive products.<br \/>\n\tWorking at the intersection of strategy, data, and implementation, the role translates strategic direction from the Senior Manager into actionable analyses, insights, and recommendations, while managing deliverables and supervising a small team of associates through guidance, coaching, and quality assurance.<\/p>\n<p>The role has responsibilities across the following areas:<\/p>\n<p>Product Design, Data &amp; Analytics<\/p>\n<p>\tSupport the end-to-end design and ongoing refinement of Aceli\u2019s financial incentives aligning the product design with Aceli\u2019s long-term vision and impact objectives.<br \/>\n\tIdentify opportunities to improve or evolve products based on data insights, partner feedback, and implementation experience.<br \/>\n\tSupport the development and application of analytical frameworks and dashboards to assess lender performance, portfolio quality, and impact outcomes.<br \/>\n\tManage the design and delivery of Aceli\u2019s annual financial benchmarking exercise, including evolution of methodologies over time.<br \/>\n\tTranslate analytical findings into clear insights for internal decision-making and external engagement with partners.<\/p>\n<p>Annual planning and risk management<\/p>\n<p>\tLead the preparation of Aceli\u2019s annual financial incentive budget, including multi-year financial projections, scenario analysis, and sensitivity testing to support strategic decision-making.<br \/>\n\tEnsure the incentive budgeting process is data-driven, realistic, and aligned with organisational priorities, funding constraints, and risk appetite.<br \/>\n\tLead the annual loan audit and verification process, ensuring loans submitted by partner lenders comply with Aceli\u2019s eligibility criteria and impact guidelines.<\/p>\n<p>Stakeholder engagement<\/p>\n<p>\tCollaborate closely with lending partners to gather market feedback, explain product mechanics, and ensure a clear and consistent understanding of Aceli\u2019s financial incentives and requirements.<br \/>\n\tWork cross-functionally with internal teams (including Operations, Impact, and Leadership) to ensure product developments align with Aceli\u2019s strategic priorities and implementation realities.<\/p>\n<p>Team Leadership &amp; Capacity Building<\/p>\n<p>\tManage, supervise, and mentor a team of junior team members working on product design, analytics, and benchmarking.<br \/>\n\tProvide clear direction, prioritisation, and quality control across team deliverables.<br \/>\n\tCoach team members on analytical rigor, structured thinking, and effective communication.<br \/>\n\tSupport professional development through regular feedback, performance management, and on-the-job learning.<br \/>\n\tFoster a collaborative, high-performing team culture with strong ownership and accountability.<\/p>\n<p>Qualifications<\/p>\n<p>\tEducation: Bachelor\u2019s degree in a relevant field (e.g., finance or business) preferred.<br \/>\n\tExperience: 7 years of relevant experience in product design, financial services, development finance, consulting, or a related field.<br \/>\n\tPeople Management: Demonstrated experience managing and developing junior team members.<br \/>\n\tAnalytical Expertise: Strong experience working with complex datasets and designing practical analytical frameworks and dashboards.<br \/>\n\tFinancial Sector Knowledge: Solid understanding of financial institutions, lending products, and portfolio performance metrics.<br \/>\n\tCommunication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts to diverse audiences.<br \/>\n\tOrganisational Skills: Proven ability to manage multiple workstreams, priorities, and deadlines in a dynamic environment.<br \/>\n\tValues alignment: Demonstrated collaborative approach to working across functions and beyond formal reporting lines; growth mindset with an interest in operating at the frontier of industry practice; and strong commitment to Aceli\u2019s mission and values.<\/p>\n<p>Interested candidates should submit a one-page cover letter expressing their interest and qualifications for the role, along with an updated CV.
