She\/he will provide individualized nursing care to patients as per Nursing Council of Kenya guidelines. In addition to the basic nursing duties, she\/he will also carry out the following duties and responsibilities:<\/p>\n
\tCarry out evaluation of psychological and mental health needs of patients, elaborate a nursing diagnosis and establish individual case management plan
\n\tDevelop nursing care plans for patients, provide nursing care as per the Nursing council of Kenya guidelines and help patients be as independent as possible
\n\tAdminister and monitor prescribed treatment regimens as per patient\u2019s condition in liaison with the medical officers and consultant psychiatrists. Observe and report behavioural changes
\n\tWork with patients\u2019 families to help improve the patient\u2019s abilities for self-care & help the caregivers deal with family member\u2019s mental illness
\n\tRecord all care information concisely, accurately and completely, in a timely manner, in the appropriate format and on the appropriate forms
\n\tProvide orientation to other members of staff
\n\tAssist and train staff members and resourceful people whenever necessary in order to enhance the scope of Mental Health activities
\n\tParticipate in developing community networks to support mental health patients
\n\tSupervise mental health assistants and ensure patient\u2019s records are kept well and ensure timely weekly and monthly reports are compiled.
\n\tPrepare and maintain an inventory of all medical equipment, pharmaceutical and non-pharmaceutical materials and supplies
\n\tUpdate medical calendars and schedule clinical meetings
\n\tPerform other position-related duties as assigned from time-to-time Person Specification
\n\tWell organized and methodical approach to workable to multi-task
\n\tAppreciation of critical timescales and the impact of tardiness on customer perception
\n\tCredibility both internally and externally \u2013 with colleagues, partners and customers

\n\tMature, credible, highly professional, and comfortable in dealing with psychiatric patients<\/p>\n
\u00a0Qualifications<\/p>\n
\tDiploma in Nursing (Graduate degree level preferred)
\n\tAdditional Training and certification in Nursing is an advantage
\n\tAt least 2 years\u2019 experience as a Nurse, preferably in a mental health and substance use treatment institution
\n\tExtensive experience in all aspects of Customer Relationship Management
\n\tStrong written, verbal and communication skills \u2013 Strong interpersonal skills and ability to team with colleagues for the betterment of the institution
\n\tAdaptability, flexibility, and the ability to do quality work under minimal supervision
\n\tAble to manage demands of a growing specialized medical rehabilitation centre Measures of Success
\n\tExcellent execution of assigned tasks with minimal supervision
\n\tExcellent Daily, Weekly, Quarterly achievement of objectives as agreed with the Clinical Director<\/p>\n
