\n\tBuild, steward, and deepen relationships with philanthropic partners, peer foundations, donor collaboratives, and high\u2011value networks.\u00a0
\n\tIdentify, assess, and pursue new partnership opportunities that unlock scale, sustainability, and systems\u2011level impact.\u00a0
\n\tSupport the Executive Director, Africa and Africa Directors in cultivating and managing senior\u2011level external relationships.\u00a0
\n\tRepresent CIFF Africa in relevant funder collaboratives, multi\u2011donor platforms, and partnership forums, ensuring clear value\u2011add and outcomes.\u00a0
\n\tEngage strategically with priority governments, regional bodies (e.g. African Union, AUDA\u2011NEPAD, WHO AFRO), and multilateral institutions in partnership with programme teams.\u00a0
\n\tTrack policy, geopolitical, and regulatory developments relevant to philanthropy and partnerships in Africa,\u00a0advising\u00a0leadership on risks and opportunities.\u00a0
\n\tInstitutionalise best practices in partnership development, contributing to organisational learning and capability\u2011building across the Africa team.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Strategic Communications & Thought Leadership\u00a0<\/p>\n
\tSet and lead CIFF Africa\u2019s strategic communications agenda to strengthen visibility, influence, and coherence across countries and missions.\u00a0
\n\tDevelop integrated communications and positioning strategies aligned with CIFF\u2019s values, priorities, and risk appetite.\u00a0
\n\tLead the creation of high\u2011quality external communications including speeches, talking points, briefs, op\u2011eds, reports, and presentations.\u00a0
\n\tShape and deliver CIFF Africa\u2019s thought leadership and advocacy approach, in close collaboration with programme and policy teams.\u00a0
\n\tOversee digital and media engagement for CIFF Africa, coordinating with central communications teams on social media, media relations, and performance tracking.\u00a0
\n\tEnsure consistency of messaging across external engagements, governance\u00a0materials, and public\u2011facing platforms.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
Reputation and Crisis\u00a0Communications\u00a0<\/p>\n
\tDevelop and\u00a0maintain\u00a0crisis communications and reputation management plans for CIFF Africa\u00a0
\n\tMonitor emerging reputational risks and sensitive issues, preparing proactive messaging and escalation pathways.\u00a0
\n\tAdvise the Executive Director and senior leadership on reputational risk mitigation and response strategies.\u00a0
\n\tCoordinate external advisors and communications consultants during high\u2011risk or crisis situations.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Leadership & Management\u00a0<\/p>\n
\tProvide strategic leadership to any staff or consultants working on partnerships and communications portfolios.\u00a0
\n\tWork collaboratively with Africa Directors, programme teams, and global support functions (Communications, Legal, Finance, HR) to deliver integrated external engagement.\u00a0
\n\tContribute as a senior member of the Africa leadership cohort, modelling CIFF\u2019s values and ways of working.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Skills & Experience\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
\tSignificant senior\u2011level experience in partnership development, external relations, and\/or strategic communications in Africa\u00a0
\n\tProven\u00a0track record\u00a0of building and managing high\u2011value partnerships across philanthropy, government, and multilateral systems.\u00a0
\n\tStrong experience leading strategic communications, thought leadership, or advocacy in complex and sensitive contexts.\u00a0
\n\tDemonstrated ability to\u00a0operate\u00a0credibly with senior stakeholders, including government officials, funders, and institutional leaders.\u00a0
\n\tExperience managing reputational risk and crisis communications.\u00a0
\n\tStrong political, institutional, and contextual understanding of African development landscapes.\u00a0
\n\tExcellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distil complex issues clearly and persuasively.\u00a0
\n\tStrategic, judgement\u2011driven thinker with a pragmatic and solutions\u2011oriented mindset.\u00a0
