Job Description<\/p>\n
\tPurchases and sales;
\n\tNegotiate contracts covering price, quality, shipment periods, payment terms, and Incoterms (FOB).
\n\tDevelop and manage a portfolio of customers, including roasters, traders, and importers.
\n\tLead customer negotiations and strategic accounts
\n\tParticipate in origin travel, crop assessments, and producer visits
\n\tOversee execution of FOB contracts from confirmation through shipment
\n\tResolve shipment, quality, or contractual issues efficiently
\n\tProvide market insights and price guidance to customers and internal teams
\n\tIdentify new opportunities and costumers
\n\tEvaluate crop conditions, logistics constraints, and country-specific risks.
\n\tEnsure accuracy of contracts, confirmations, and shipping instructions.
\n\tEnsure compliance with international trade regulations, sanctions, and internal controls.
\n\tMaintain accurate records of trades, contracts, and communications.
\n\tSupport audits and reporting requirements as needed.
\n\tAssist in management of trade positions on behalf of Louis Dreyfus Commodities East Africa
\n\tAssist in updating and maintaining trading PnL and reporting
\n\tFollow up on late payments\/potential client defaults
\n\tReporting to key platform personnel
\n\tPort lineup monitoring
\n\tDocumentation and contractual approval\/verification
\n\tMonitoring of risk and credit terms<\/p>\n
Qualifications<\/p>\n
Knowledge\/Experience:<\/p>\n
\tSound knowledge of Kenya coffee grades and qualities
\n\tUnderstanding of Cash and Futures Markets
\n\tUnderstanding of regional and global Coffee supply\/demand
\n\tAbility to get on well with people and relate to and handle various customers on different levels
\n\tGood working knowledge of Excel (formulation\/models) and Microsoft Office in general
\n\tGood understanding of macro and microeconomics
\n\tKnowledge of finance and accounting
\n\tAbility to handle pressure and think quickly
\n\tAbility to work efficiently and accurately
\n\tGood mathematical knowledge<\/p>\n
Qualifications<\/p>\n
\tUniversity Degree in Business or related degree
\n\tGood computer (excel) knowledge
\n\tBackground in agriculture useful
\n\tProficient in English.<\/p>\n
