Responsibilities:<\/p>\n
Reporting to the Unit accountant, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:<\/p>\n
\tAssist the Unit Accountant\u00a0in the preparation of any and all reporting and analysis requirements regardless of reporting frequency including daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual and ad-hoc. This includes postings of vouchers.
\n\tEnsure information presented in all reports is accurate and reflective of actual business transactions.
\n\tEnsure all reports are prepared on a timely basis meeting all deadlines.
\n\tAssist in conducting surprise spot-checks on General Cashier\u2019s float on a periodic basis.
\n\tAssist in conducting surprise spot-checks on all Outlet Cashier\u2019s float on a periodic basis in addition to spot-check performed by the General Cashier.
\n\tAssist in conducting surprise stock-count inspection in addition to\/ during the month-end stock-count conducted by the Cost Controller\u2019s office.
\n\tAssist in the preparation of all groundwork required for all statutory audit and tax\/fee requirements.
\n\tProvide assistance during the audit (internal and external) review process.
\n\tAdminister all tax filing and government reporting procedures to ensure accurate, timely information is provided in compliance with laws and regulations.
\n\tMaintain General Ledger with journal entries.
\n\tMonth end reconciliation of Balance Sheet Accounts.
\n\tPrepare Bank reconciliation of online statements (daily & monthly).
\n\tPreparation of Monthly assigned Journals and allocation of shared expenses among departments.
\n\tAssist in compilation of departmental budget and forecast.
\n\tMaintaining the Fixed asset register.
\n\tTo have a full working knowledge and capability to supervise, correct and demonstrate all duties and tasks in the assigned Place of Work to the standard set.
\n\tTo be entirely flexible and adapt to rotate within the different sub departments of the Accounting & Finance Department.
\n\tTo be fully conversant with all services and facilities offered by the hotel.
\n\tTo ensure all files and reports are properly filed for future reference.
\n\tTo assist in carrying out quarterly, bi-yearly, yearly inventory of operating equipment.
\n\tTo carry out any other reasonable duties as assigned by the Cluster Director of Finance and Business Support<\/p>\n
Qualifications<\/p>\n
\tMinimum of 1 year relevant experience in a luxury hotel\/resort
\n\tCompleted a Bachelor’s degree preferably i Accountancy
\n\tAn active CPA licence is an advantage
\n\tKnowlegeable in Sun Systems, Opera, Future Log and Kenya Taxation
