The Business Head will oversee the client\u2019s operations in Kenya, ensuring effective risk management, compliance, and profitability. This role combines strategic leadership with operational execution, covering credit, collections, finance, IT, audit, and regulatory compliance. The incumbent will drive business growth, optimize processes, and safeguard the client\u2019s risk and governance framework.<\/p>\n
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:<\/p>\n
Business Leadership<\/p>\n
\tTranslate strategic goals into operational plans to achieve targeted growth in sales and profit.
\n\tIdentify and optimize promotional opportunities, coordinating with wider departments.
\n\tMaintain market intelligence on competitors, trends, and new product opportunities.
\n\tLiaise with the client Group leadership to set strategic goals and execution timelines.<\/p>\n
Operational Oversight<\/p>\n
\tLead daily operations across credit, collections, finance, audit, IT, and compliance functions.
\n\tMonitor expenses, cash flow, and budgeting to optimize costs and profitability.
\n\tRecruit, train, and develop staff, ensuring adherence to systems and procedures.<\/p>\n
Risk & Compliance<\/p>\n
\tImplement and monitor methodologies for measuring operational risk across credit and collections.
\n\tEnsure compliance with regulatory requirements and local laws governing asset finance.
\n\tRevise, improve, and enforce credit and collection policies, standards, and operating procedures.
\n\tOversee contracts, agreements, and stakeholder relations, ensuring legal and compliance standards are met.<\/p>\n
Systems & Reporting<\/p>\n
\tMaintain and improve credit and collection reporting frameworks.
\n\tImplement system projects (e.g., Loan Management Systems) to enhance efficiency.
\n\tMonitor and report key operational risks monthly, recommending improvements.
\n\tEnsure effective risk and report management for new finance products and campaigns.<\/p>\n
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:<\/p>\n
Qualifications<\/p>\n
\tBachelor\u2019s degree in finance, Business Administration, Economics, Mathematics, or Statistics.
\n\tMBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification preferred.<\/p>\n
Experience & Profile<\/p>\n
\t8+ years of experience in Asset financing in Microfinance\/ Lending institutions & Banking.
\n\tStrong understanding of credit management, collections, and risk management principles.
\n\tFamiliarity with business functions including finance, sales, IT, and compliance.
\n\tProven ability to manage system transitions and risk modeling.<\/p>\n
