The key responsibility for this role is to ensure the optimal performance of Smart database and associated functionality and essentially ensure that the Smart databases meet user requirements.<\/p>\n
Database Support & Operations<\/p>\n
\tProvide 24\/7 support to ensure high availability, integrity, security, and performance of Smart\u2019s databases.
\n\tAssist with database maintenance, installations, configurations, upgrades, and patch management for Oracle, MSSQL, and MySQL environments.
\n\tPerform daily backups, verify data integrity, and support restore processes.<\/p>\n
Monitoring & Troubleshooting<\/p>\n
\tMonitor database logs, performance, and abnormal activities, escalating issues as necessary.
\n\tProvide first-level troubleshooting for database incidents and support customer service inquiries under defined SLAs.<\/p>\n
Documentation & Reporting<\/p>\n
\tMaintain accurate documentation of procedures, configurations, backup schedules, and incident resolutions.
\n\tGenerate regular database performance reports and ensure compliance with database standards.<\/p>\n
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement<\/p>\n
\tWork closely with senior DBAs, internal teams, and other departments to support business systems.
\n\tStay updated on Smart solutions, current database trends, and attend training to enhance skills.<\/p>\n
Requirements<\/p>\n
\u00a0Qualifications<\/p>\n
\tHolder of a bachelor\u2019s degree in lieu demonstrate experience in database administration and\u00a0a\u00a0professional qualification.
\n\tAn experience of 2 years working with PostgreSQL
\n\tStrong\u00a0PostgreSQL\u00a0query writing, tuning skills, and shell scripting
\n\tHands-on knowledge of backup and recovery methods and tools
\n\tExperience with high availability and disaster recovery including data replication
\n\tSolid understanding of\u00a0Linux\u00a0and\u00a0Windows Server\u00a0environments.
\n\tFamiliarity with automation tools like Ansible, Terraform, or Kubernetes for DB deployment\/management.<\/p>\n
