JOB PURPOSE<\/p>\n
Our client, a leading fin-tech company, is seeking a\u00a0Senior Accountant\u00a0responsible for delivering accurate, timely, and compliant financial operations in support of the Company\u2019s payments, fin-tech, and revenue collection activities. The role ensures strong financial controls, reliable reporting, and efficient settlement processes across suppliers, merchants, counties, and regulatory stakeholders.<\/p>\n
The position plays a critical role in safeguarding financial integrity, supporting regulatory compliance (including Central Bank requirements where applicable), and strengthening operational efficiency within a high-volume transaction environment.<\/p>\n
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DELIVERABLES<\/p>\n
Key areas include:<\/p>\n
\tAccounts Payable:\u00a0Overseeing supplier payments, ensuring proper approvals, and managing payable balances.
\n\tGeneral Ledger:\u00a0Maintaining accurate financial records, posting transactions, and performing monthly reconciliations.
\n\tBank & Payment Reconciliations:\u00a0Reconciling bank and settlement accounts and resolving discrepancies.
\n\tPayroll & Compliance:\u00a0Supporting payroll processing and ensuring timely statutory deductions and filings.
\n\tBudgeting & Monitoring:\u00a0Assisting with budgets and analyzing variances between actual and planned performance.
\n\tMerchant Settlements:\u00a0Managing and reconciling merchant and partner payments in a high-volume transaction environment.
\n\tReporting:\u00a0Supporting management accounts and regulatory reporting, including compliance with relevant authorities.
\n\tAudit & Records:\u00a0Preparing for audits and maintaining organized financial documentation.
\n\tProcess Improvement:\u00a0Enhancing financial systems, controls, and operational efficiency.<\/p>\n
Requirements<\/p>\n
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE<\/p>\n
\tBachelor\u2019s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
\n\tCPA (K) \/ ACCA or equivalent professional qualification (completed or finalist)
\n\tMinimum 5 years\u2019 experience in accounting, preferably within fin-tech, payments, banking, or revenue collection environments
\n\tStrong experience in bank and settlement reconciliations
\n\tWorking knowledge of Sage Evolution or similar ERP systems
\n\tStrong understanding of Kenyan tax and statutory compliance requirements<\/p>\n
