The Head of ICT is tasked with leading and coordinating the development of a forward-thinking, world-class ICT strategy for VFK. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the role focuses on ensuring that the ICT strategy is closely aligned with VFK\u2019s overall business goals and continuously adapts to the evolving needs of the organization and its various units. The position also involves conducting research and advising management on emerging technologies and trends that could add value to VFK.<\/p>\n
Additionally, the role provides strategic direction in designing and implementing a secure, innovative, and business-oriented ICT framework that supports VisionFund Kenya\u2019s mission and operational priorities, while ensuring the efficient performance of all ICT systems and infrastructure.<\/p>\n
Key Responsibilities<\/p>\n
Strategic Leadership<\/p>\n
\tAdvise the CEO and Senior Management on ICT strategy and infrastructure.
\n\tIdentify and recommend emerging technologies to enhance organizational performance.
\n\tParticipate in leadership and strategic decision-making forums.<\/p>\n
ICT Strategy, Planning & Budgeting<\/p>\n
\tDevelop and implement the ICT strategy aligned to business goals.
\n\tPrepare and manage the ICT annual budget ensuring cost-effectiveness.
\n\tOversee delivery of ICT projects and services across the organization.
\n\tLead ICT capacity building and staff training initiatives.<\/p>\n
ICT Governance, Risk & Compliance<\/p>\n
\tDevelop, implement, and enforce ICT policies, procedures, and standards.
\n\tEnsure data protection, cybersecurity, and regulatory compliance.
\n\tEstablish and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
\n\tOversee ICT documentation and resource management.<\/p>\n
ICT Operations & Systems Management<\/p>\n
\tManage ICT infrastructure, systems, and user support services.
\n\tEnsure high system availability, reliability, and performance.
\n\tSupervise and mentor ICT staff.
\n\tEnsure integrity and accuracy of systems, including loan tracking systems.<\/p>\n
Other Duties<\/p>\n
\tPerform any other duties as assigned by the CEO.<\/p>\n

Qualifications & Experience<\/p>\n
Academic Qualifications<\/p>\n
\tBachelor\u2019s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
\n\tMaster\u2019s degree in a relevant field (preferred).<\/p>\n
Professional Qualifications<\/p>\n
\tRelevant ICT certifications (e.g., ITIL, COBIT, CISSP, CISA, PMP) are an added advantage.<\/p>\n
Experience<\/p>\n
\tMinimum of 8\u201310 years\u2019 experience in ICT, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
\n\tProven experience in ICT strategy development and implementation.
\n\tExperience in financial services or microfinance sector is an added advantage.
\n\tStrong background in ICT governance, cybersecurity, and systems management.<\/p>\n
