To provide effective support to the Finance & Investment Manager and is responsible for Financial Analysis, Investment reporting and Anti-Money Laundering compliance.<\/p>\n

Key Responsibilities<\/p>\n
Financial Management and Reporting<\/p>\n
\tPrepare monthly and periodic financial statements, including profit and loss accounts, budgets, cash flows, variance analysis and commentaries;
\n\tReport on the Sacco\u2019s assets and liabilities including balance sheet account reconciliations and review of intangible assets;
\n\tMaintain accruals and prepayments schedules;
\n\tWork closely with the Head of Finance to ensure financial systems are fit for purpose, sustainable and that users have correct access rights;
\n\tParticipate in the development, monitoring and review of departmental accounting policies, procedures and processes;
\n\tPrepare monthly, quarterly, half-year and annual reports for management and board;
\n\tAssist with the annual budgeting process.<\/p>\n
Anti-Money Laundering Role<\/p>\n
\tUndertake Customer Due Diligence (CDD) as per the law and KYC\/AML policies;
\n\tEnsure compliance with local and international AML laws;
\n\tMonitor and investigate suspicious activities and report to relevant institutions;
\n\tIdentify, assess, and mitigate risks related to money laundering and terrorist financing;
\n\tParticipate in the development, implementation and enforcement of the Sacco\u2019s KYC\/AML compliance program;
\n\tPromote a culture of compliance through training and sensitization;
\n\tWork closely with law enforcement, regulators, and auditors during AML investigations.<\/p>\n
Financial Analysis and Investment Role<\/p>\n
\tAnalyze financial performance and contribute to medium and long-term business planning\/forecasts;
\n\tPerform research and identify current market trends;
\n\tWork with the Head of Finance on finance initiatives and process improvements;
\n\tExamine financial data and recommend investment options;
\n\tPerform financial forecasting and suggest budgets and strategies;
\n\tInterpret and optimize financial data;
\n\tEvaluate financial statements;
\n\tEvaluate profit margins;
\n\tMaintain a general ledger and accounts receivable database.
\n\tPerforms any other responsibilities assigned by the Supervisor from time to time.<\/p>\n
Knowledge, Skills and Experience<\/p>\n
Academic & Professional Qualifications<\/p>\n
\tBachelor\u2019s degree in Finance, Banking, Accounting, Economics or a business-related field;
\n\tHolder of CPA (K) and member of ICPAK in good standing;
\n\tAt least five (5) years\u2019 experience in financial institution operations;
\n\tAt least three (3) years\u2019 experience in a similar position in the Financial or SACCO sector;
\n\tCompliance and Risk Management knowledge;
\n\tCertifications such as CFCS or Certified Forensic Fraud Examiner will be an added advantage;
\n\tCertified Investment Analyst qualification will be an added advantage.<\/p>\n
Technical and Interpersonal Skills<\/p>\n
\tExcellent command of computer packages; experience in Microsoft Dynamics ERP Navision is mandatory;
\n\tExperience in financial services, compliance, auditing, or risk management;
\n\tHands-on experience with AML and fraud detection systems;
\n\tKnowledge of SACCO laws, AML policies, tax legislation, and relevant regulations;
\n\tUnderstanding of IFRS and SASRA Regulations;
\n\tStrong organizational and leadership skills;
\n\tAnalytical and investigative skills with attention to detail;
\n\tExcellent communication skills.<\/p>\n
