Duties and Responsibilities<\/p>\n
\tThis will be the entry and training grade into this cadre. An Engineer at this level will work under the guidance of a designated supervisor. Duties and responsibilities will entail;
\n\tTaking part in preparation of\u00a0designs and drawings for\u00a0manufacturing\u00a0mechanical\u00a0components;
\n\tTaking part in fabrication of tools, equipment and machine\/plant\/vehicle\u00a0component
\n\tRepairing\u00a0and\u00a0maintenance\u00a0of\u00a0vehicle,\u00a0plant\u00a0and\u00a0equipment
\n\tCarrying\u00a0out\u00a0inspection\u00a0and\u00a0testing\u00a0of\u00a0vehicles,\u00a0plant, machines\u00a0and\u00a0equipment
\n\tTaking\u00a0part\u00a0in\u00a0installation,\u00a0maintenance\u00a0and\u00a0repair of\u00a0vehicles,\u00a0plant,\u00a0equipment and machinery in workshops:
\n\tIdentifying\u00a0vehicles,\u00a0plant\u00a0and\u00a0mechanical\u00a0equipment\u00a0for\u00a0relocation,\u00a0repair, replacement, overhaul and disposal;
\n\tCarrying\u00a0out\u00a0tests,\u00a0valuation\u00a0and\u00a0inspection\u00a0of\u00a0vehicles,\u00a0plant\u00a0and\u00a0equipment;
\n\tSupervising\u00a0examinations and\u00a0grade\/trade\u00a0tests\u00a0for\u00a0drivers\u00a0and\u00a0plant\u00a0operators;
\n\tCollecting\u00a0and\u00a0collating\u00a0data\u00a0for\u00a0research;
\n\tCollecting\u00a0and\u00a0compiling\u00a0data\u00a0on\u00a0inventory\u00a0of\u00a0vehicles,\u00a0plant,\u00a0and\u00a0equipment throughout their life cycle; and
\n\tTaking\u00a0part\u00a0in\u00a0preparation\u00a0of\u00a0maintenance\u00a0and\u00a0serviceability\u00a0schedules\u00a0for vehicles and plant machinery and preparing reports<\/p>\n
Requirements for Appointment<\/p>\n
\tBachelors\u00a0of\u00a0Science\u00a0or\u00a0Engineering\u00a0Degree\u00a0in any\u00a0of\u00a0the\u00a0following\u00a0disciplines; Mechanical\u00a0Engineering, Mechanical\u00a0&\u00a0Production\u00a0Engineering,\u00a0Mechatronics\u00a0Engineering,\u00a0Mechanical\u00a0& Industrial,\u00a0Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering,\u00a0Aeronautical\u00a0and\u00a0_Aerospace\u00a0Engineering\u00a0or\u00a0its equivalent\u00a0from a\u00a0recognized\u00a0institution;
\n\tRegistration\u00a0by\u00a0Engineering\u00a0Board\u00a0of\u00a0Kenya\u00a0as a\u00a0graduate\u00a0Engineer;
\n\tProficiency\u00a0in\u00a0computer\u00a0applications.<\/p>\n
