Key Responsibilities of a Masonry Worker<\/p>\n
Prepare and Lay Masonry Materials<\/p>\n
\tMix mortar, concrete, and other bonding materials.
\n\tLay bricks, blocks, and stones in proper alignment and bonding patterns.
\n\tConstruct walls, partitions, and other structural elements.
\n\tEnsure accuracy in measurements and leveling.<\/p>\n
\u00a0 Perform Plastering and Finishing Work<\/p>\n
\tApply plaster, stucco, and other finishes to walls and ceilings.
\n\tSmooth and level surfaces for painting or tiling.
\n\tRepair cracks, holes, and damaged masonry surfaces.<\/p>\n
\u00a0 Maintain and Repair Structures<\/p>\n
\tInspect existing masonry structures for damage or wear.
\n\tCarry out repair and maintenance work on walls, pavements, and floors.
\n\tReplace defective bricks, blocks, or stones.<\/p>\n
\u00a0 Ensure Safety and Compliance<\/p>\n
\tFollow construction site safety protocols and use protective equipment.
\n\tMaintain cleanliness and orderliness at the worksite.
\n\tAdhere to building codes, project specifications, and quality standards.<\/p>\n

\tProperly use and maintain masonry tools such as trowels, levels, and hammers.
\n\tEnsure safe storage and handling of equipment and materials.
\n\tReport damaged tools or unsafe equipment to supervisors.<\/p>\n
Qualifications<\/p>\n
\tCertificate or Diploma in Masonry, Building Construction, or related field from a recognized institution.
\n\tMinimum of 2 years practical experience in masonry or construction work.
\n\tKnowledge of construction safety standards and building codes.
\n\tAbility to read and interpret construction drawings and blueprints.<\/p>\n
