About the Role<\/p>\n
\tBURN\u00a0is looking for a\u00a0Junior Communications Officer who will be responsible for executing effective communication strategies that promote and protect the reputation of the organization.
\n\tThey will work closely with the Head of Communications to create messaging that enhances the company’s brand, supports the Communication initiatives, and ensures that all external communication is aligned with the organization’s goals and values.<\/p>\n
Duties and Responsibilities:<\/p>\n
\tExecute corporate communication strategies that promote and protect the organization’s reputation.
\n\tContent development for external communication, including press releases, speeches, and other materials that enhance the organization’s brand and promote its values.
\n\tCreate and maintain relationships with media outlets and journalists to ensure that the organization’s message is accurately and positively portrayed in the media.
\n\tRespond to media inquiries and perform media outreach to achieve brand placement in publications.
\n\tCollaborate with internal teams to identify and craft messages that are aligned with the company’s vision, mission, and values.
\n\tMonitor and analyse industry trends and best practices to ensure that the organization’s corporate communication strategies remain innovative and effective.
\n\tDevelop and manage employee feedback mechanisms and surveys to gather insights and measure the effectiveness of external communication strategies.
\n\tSupport the team in managing corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives and programs that align with the organization’s values and enhance its reputation.
\n\tEnsure all communications are consistent, accurate, and aligned with the company’s tone of voice and messaging guidelines.<\/p>\n
Skills and Experience:<\/p>\n
\tBachelor\u2019s degree in communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Advertising, Social Studies or a related field.
\n\t1-2 years of experience in communications, public relations, or related roles preferably in PR agency.
\n\tMust possess exceptional writing skills and be able to compose engaging and accurate content that resonates with external audiences.
\n\tShould be able to speak confidently in meetings and public forums.
\n\tGreat personality with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders.
\n\tAbility to work collaboratively across teams and departments.
\n\tAbility to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
\n\tProficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
\n\tKnowledge of best practices in corporate communication, crisis management, and media relations.
\n\tAble to work well independently and with a team.
\n\tUnderstand the best practices of main social media channels including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.
\n\tMust be resourceful and take initiative even when given minimal direction.<\/p>\n
