{"id":93836,"date":"2026-04-07T08:00:32","date_gmt":"2026-04-07T08:00:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jobs.dataaxisnode.com\/kenya\/job\/country-laboratory-and-diagnostics-specialist-finance-manager\/"},"modified":"2026-04-07T08:01:19","modified_gmt":"2026-04-07T08:01:19","slug":"country-laboratory-and-diagnostics-specialist-finance-manager","status":"publish","type":"job_listing","link":"https:\/\/jobs.dataaxisnode.com\/kenya\/job\/country-laboratory-and-diagnostics-specialist-finance-manager\/","title":{"rendered":"Country Laboratory and Diagnostics Specialist \n\n\n            \n\n            \n            Finance Manager"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Accountabilities:<\/p>\n<p>Technical Requirements:<\/p>\n<p>\tProvides overall technical leadership and strategic guidance to project staff for the laboratory and diagnostic services component of STRIDES project including coordination with other GHS technical areas (e.g., surveillance, data, etc.) to ensure synergy.<br \/>\n\tMonitors and maintains project protocols, instruments, data sets, manuals, training materials, and reports related to diagnostic services and laboratory technical areas.<br \/>\n\tWorks in close collaboration with national, regional, and local counterparts to provide technical assistance required to fulfill project objectives and targets, primarily related to strengthening laboratory systems and diagnostic services.<br \/>\n\tLeads or contributes to the development and writing of technical briefs, reports, or other necessary materials to facilitate research, best practices, policies, and procedures.<br \/>\n\tProvides subject matter expertise to guide the implementation of laboratory and diagnostic network strengthening activities (e.g., specimen referral, quality assurance, laboratory information management system, training, etc.) across relevant GHS technical areas including antimicrobial resistance, zoonotic diseases,\u00a0biosafety\/biosecurity,\u00a0diagnostic networks, and surveillance.<br \/>\n\tProvides technical support in the scale-up and optimization of new diagnostic tools<br \/>\n\tProvides mentorship to support capacity building for project team members and\u00a0subcontractors.\u00a0<br \/>\n\tLeads or assists with diagnostic network and laboratory capacity assessments including the reporting of findings and recommendations.<br \/>\n\tContributes to research initiatives to improve laboratory practices and diagnostic outcomes.<\/p>\n<p>Project Design Implementation:<\/p>\n<p>\tPromotes adopting and integrating new diagnostic technologies, tools, and methodologies based on the country&#8217;s needs and priorities for project implementation.<br \/>\n\tWorks closely with country team project management, subcontractors, and stakeholders to align laboratory and diagnostic activities with overall project goals.<br \/>\n\tDevelops and monitors implementation of technical components of project work plans, along with associated budgets and resources, with a focus on project activities and sub-activities related laboratory and diagnostic-related components.<br \/>\n\tConducts analysis of project implementation to identify areas for improvement and proposes appropriate technical strategies to manage risks, overcome barriers, and advance project objectives.<br \/>\n\tMonitors project activities, results, deliverables and identifies and raises issues to management.<\/p>\n<p>Client\/Funder Support:<\/p>\n<p>\tBuilds productive working relationships internally and externally by fostering collaboration with national and international organizations, government agencies, academia, and other relevant entities.<br \/>\n\tAssists with the preparation and drafting of work plans, presentations, and reports for the Department of State (DoS) and other key stakeholders.<br \/>\n\tParticipate and represent the project in meetings and forums as required.<\/p>\n<p>Operations Management (Finance, HR, etc.):<\/p>\n<p>\tEnsures project activities are on track with work plans, with technical expertise informing project implementation.<br \/>\n\tOversees project timelines and budgets.\u00a0 This includes monitoring of project activities to ensure they are on track with approved work plans, the spending on technical scope under broad supervision, and the collection of data for financial and technical reporting.<br \/>\n\tMonitors project activities, results, deliverables and regularly reports to management.<br \/>\n\tManage procurement as needed, coordinating with Department of State and suppliers.<\/p>\n<p>\u200b\u200b\u200b\u200b\u200b\u200b\u200bProject\/Program Reporting:<\/p>\n<p>\tPrepares reports and papers summarizing project results and analysis of data sets including technical assessment findings.
