About the Role:
\nWe are looking for a highly disciplined, detail-oriented Entry-Level Accountant to join our team in a fast-paced wholesale and distribution environment. This role requires accuracy, accountability, and the ability to handle financial data with minimal supervision. You will work directly under a senior accountant and be expected to meet strict performance and accuracy standards.<\/p>\n
Key Responsibilities:<\/p>\n
\tAccurate and timely entry of financial data into ERP\/accounting systems
\n\tStrict verification of invoices against delivery notes and supporting documents
\n\tValidation of invoice accuracy, including correct application of VAT and withholding tax
\n\tDaily and monthly reconciliations (bank, cash, supplier, and customer accounts)
\n\tImmediate identification and reporting of discrepancies or inconsistencies
\n\tMaintenance of well-organized and audit-ready filing systems (physical and digital)
\n\tSupport in accounts payable and receivable processes
\n\tParticipation in stock and inventory record verification where required
\n\tAssistance in preparation and filing of statutory returns
\n\tEnsuring full compliance with company controls and procedures
\n\tHandling assigned administrative duties and controlled office errands
\n\tAny additional duties as assigned by senior staff<\/p>\n
Minimum Requirements (Strict):<\/p>\n
\tDiploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
\n\tCPA Part II (minimum) \u2013 mandatory
\n\tStrong understanding of accounting fundamentals and double-entry principles
\n\tWorking knowledge of Kenyan tax compliance under Kenya Revenue Authority
\n\tPractical understanding of:<\/p>\n
\t\tVAT
\n\t\tWithholding Tax
\n\t\tPAYE<\/p>\n
\tDemonstrated ability to assist in filing returns via KRA iTax Portal
\n\tProven ability to perform reconciliations (bank, cashbook, supplier, and customer accounts)<\/p>\n
Technical Skills (Tested During Recruitment):<\/p>\n
\tStrong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (mandatory)
\n\tUse of formulas (e.g., SUMIF, VLOOKUP\/XLOOKUP)
\n\tBasic data analysis and reconciliation using Excel
\n\tProficiency in Microsoft Word and Google Workspace
\n\tExperience using accounting\/ERP systems (e.g., Odoo, QuickBooks, or similar)<\/p>\n
