Portfolio Management (35% of time)<\/p>\n
\tPortfolio strategy and long-term planning.\u00a0Provide strategic marketing guidance to R&D strategy, collaborating on the strategic direction of the organization.
\n\tMarket information and competitor movements \u2013\u00a0volumes, prices of key molecules.
\n\tNew Product Development – Oversee process, systems, budgets, timelines, etc. Systems include Calyx and GNPL.
\n\tNew Product Launches – Introduction and optimization of new product introduction including launch strategy and planning, introduction campaigns, field activities, etc.
\n\tCreation of technical material, speaker packs, presentations, brochures, marketing collateral, etc.\u00a0
\n\tPartner with Sales, Commercial, and Product teams to co-create go-to-market strategies for new products and services<\/p>\n
Brand Equity\u00a0(30% of time)<\/p>\n
\tBuild brand awareness – Campaigns, publications, field activities,\u00a0demonstrations, demo reports, etc.
\n\tBrand governance – Ensure the brand is on point
\n\tInnovation in getting our brand and message to the market.\u00a0
\n\tLoyalty programmes and incentives.\u00a0
\n\tBuild customer relations and look after customer satisfaction.\u00a0
\n\tManage trademark applications (searches and registrations)\u00a0<\/p>\n
Strategic Marketing Leadership (25% of time)<\/p>\n
\tLead strategic planning sessions with cross-functional teams to ensure marketing initiatives support commercial goals.
\n\tIdentify market trends, emerging opportunities, and risks.
\n\tDevelop and manage the sub-regional marketing budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
\n\tTrack spend against budget and report variances with corrective action plans.
\n\tEnsure all marketing investments are justified by measurable outcomes and ROI.<\/p>\n
Business Development (10% of time)<\/p>\n
\tIdentify opportunities within UPL as well as with external (3rd party) partners.\u00a0
\n\tManage all discussions, alignment, negotiations and contracts.
\n\tManage relationships – both internally as well as externally.<\/p>\n
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required<\/p>\n
Technical Requirements:<\/p>\n
\tAdvanced knowledge of crop protection, seed treatments, BioSolutions, and ag-input technologies
\n\tStrong expertise in market intelligence, segmentation, and competitor mapping
\n\tSkilled in developing pricing strategies, value mapping, and profitability analysis
\n\tExperience with product lifecycle management and new product introduction processes
\n\tProficient in digital marketing tools, CRM platforms, and data-driven marketing
\n\tStrong financial acumen (NPV, margin analysis, licensing cost structures)
\n\tAdvanced MS Excel, Power BI, and reporting tools
\n\tFamiliarity with global agricultural regulatory frameworks
\n\tExperience managing cross-border teams across the Eastern Africa and IOI region<\/p>\n
