Primary Responsibilities:<\/p>\n
\tProvide timely and actionable legal and business affairs counsel for NBA Africa and the BAL business teams.
\n\tDraft, review, and negotiate contracts across all business lines, particularly for NBA Africa and BAL basketball operations, fan events, marketing partnerships, merchandising, and service providers.
\n\tManage due diligence processes for business partners and service providers.
\n\tAdvise on various regulatory issues and strategic initiatives in the region, working with local counsel as needed.
\n\tDrive general corporate and administrative legal matters for NBA Africa and the BAL.
\n\tImplement organizational best practices, controls, and policies, providing regular training to existing and new business staff.<\/p>\n
Required Skills\/Knowledge:<\/p>\n
\tStrong analytical, legal writing, communication, and organizational skills.
\n\tExceptional problem-solving and collaborative abilities.
\n\tExperience with contract drafting and negotiation, with a high level of attention to detail.
\n\tExperience with compliance, due diligence, and legal research.
\n\tKnowledge of FCPA, UK Bribery Act, OFAC, and African compliance-related regulations is preferred.
\n\tFluency in English is required; fluency in French or Arabic (spoken and written) is preferred.<\/p>\n
Experience Requirements:<\/p>\n
\tMinimum 6 years\u2019 PQE or post-admission experience gained at both:
\n\tA top-tier multinational law firm in Africa, US, UK, Europe, or the Middle East.
\n\tA multinational company or similar in-house experience in Africa, US, UK, Europe, or the Middle East.
\n\tCross-border transactional work experience is required.
\n\tCommercial or corporate law background.<\/p>\n
