Job Purpose:<\/p>\n
To ensure effective management of finance operations and administration by overseeing accounts payable, fixed assets, project accounting, tax compliance, and intercompany reconciliations. The role safeguards the integrity of financial data, enforces internal controls, and drives a cost-conscious culture across the Bank, in line with DIB Bank Kenya\u2019s governance framework, regulatory requirements, and Islamic banking principles.<\/p>\n

Key Responsibilities:<\/p>\n
Accounts Payable and Cost Controls<\/p>\n
\tOversee the Accounts Payable function to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and compliance with procurement and supplier processes.
\n\tEnforce the Bank\u2019s Expense Management Guidelines to strengthen cost discipline.
\n\tDrive adoption of the automated Procure-to-Pay (P2P) system for transparency and control.<\/p>\n
Fixed Assets Register<\/p>\n
\tMaintain an accurate and automated Fixed Assets Register covering acquisition, depreciation, movement, revaluation, and disposal.
\n\tConduct periodic verification of assets and update the register accordingly.
\n\tPerform monthly reconciliations between the Fixed Assets Register and the General Ledger.<\/p>\n
Trial Balance Review and Monitoring<\/p>\n
\tConduct daily reviews of the Trial Balance (TB) at both GL and cost centre levels to monitor movements and ensure compliance with financial control requirements.
\n\tDocument findings and escalate anomalies promptly.<\/p>\n
General Ledger Reconciliations and Controls<\/p>\n
\tPerform timely reconciliations and substantiations of GL accounts in line with control guidelines.
\n\tReview and correct accounts with \u201cunnatural\u201d balances (e.g., asset accounts in credit, liability accounts in debit).
\n\tMaintain reconciliation schedules, supporting evidence, and ageing analysis.<\/p>\n
Accruals, Prepayments, Provisions \/ Write-offs<\/p>\n
\tEnsure accurate accounting for accruals, prepayments, and provisions in line with IFRS and internal policies.
\n\tEscalate reconciliation issues per the Bank\u2019s Escalation Procedures and resolve diligently.
\n\tProcess write-offs and provisions with appropriate approvals under the Delegation of Authority framework.<\/p>\n
Intercompany Reconciliation<\/p>\n
\tManage reconciliations of intercompany recharges and balances due to\/from DIB Group affiliates, including cross-border transactions.
\n\tEnsure timely clearance of outstanding items and monthly reconciliations with group-level counterparties.<\/p>\n
Project Accounting and Reporting<\/p>\n
\tMonitor and account for project-related costs, including WIP, transfers to the Asset Register, and amortisation.
\n\tEnsure accurate cost centre allocations, timely capitalisation of assets, and closure of project cost centres within three months of completion.
\n\tMaintain monthly cost forecasts and integrate projects into the annual budget process.<\/p>\n
Tax Management<\/p>\n
\tOversee tax compliance, including preparation, processing, and remittance of statutory taxes and deductions.
\n\tEnsure adherence to local regulatory requirements from the Central Bank of Kenya, Kenya Revenue Authority, and other relevant bodies.<\/p>\n
Control Environment<\/p>\n
\tUphold internal financial controls, policies, and procedures.
\n\tSafeguard financial data integrity, accuracy, and sufficiency.
\n\tEnforce system security, logical access controls, and compliance with Key Control Standards (KCS), Key Risk Indicators (KRIs), and Self-Assessments.<\/p>\n
Financial and Management Reporting<\/p>\n
\tProvide backup support to the Manager, Financial Controls, in preparing monthly, quarterly, and year-end statutory accounts.
\n\tSupport external audits and ensure compliance with reporting standards.<\/p>\n
Skills \/ Experience:<\/p>\n
Education:<\/p>\n
\tBachelor\u2019s degree in finance, Accounting, or Business Studies. MBA an added advantage.
\n\tFully qualified CPA (K), ACCA, or Chartered Accountant.<\/p>\n
Experience & Skills:<\/p>\n
\tMinimum 5-7 years\u2019 post-qualification experience in accounting or audit.
\n\tStrong GL controls, reconciliations, regulatory exposure; excellent analytical and stakeholder skills.<\/p>\n
