Are you a rising creative talent ready to take your visual storytelling to the next level? Aga Khan University (AKU) is seeking a Multimedia Specialist to join our team in Kenya. This is a high impact, hands-on role designed for a storyteller who doesn’t just manage content but crafts it \u2013 someone who can identify a powerful narrative, capture it with cinematic flair, and piece it together into a compelling digital experience.<\/p>\n
As the Multimedia Specialist, you will be the primary engine for our visual content. You will be responsible for the end-to-end production of high-quality video and photo assets that amplify AKU\u2019s impact, supporting our global communications strategy and social development initiatives.<\/p>\n
Responsibilities<\/p>\n
\tLead all stages of video creation, including concept development, storyboarding, professional camera operation (lighting\/audio), and post-production editing.
\n\tTranslate complex institutional milestones and human-interest stories into engaging short-form and long-form visual narratives for local and global audiences.
\n\tSupport and contribute to the department\u2019s annual video production plan aligned with the organization\u2019s priorities.
\n\tCurate and maintain the organization\u2019s digital library, ensuring all raw and finished assets are catalogued for easy retrieval and future use.
\n\tCreate audience-focused video content that aligns with current trends while maintaining the University\u2019s brand integrity.
\n\tProvide technical guidance and creative direction to entity communicators to elevate the overall quality of digital content across the organization.<\/p>\n
Requirements<\/p>\n
\tBachelor\u2019s degree in film production, Digital Media, Journalism, Communications, or related field from a recognized university.
\n\t3-5 years of proven experience in professional video production, including advanced camera operation and lighting.
\n\tHigh proficiency in the Adobe Creative Cloud suite, with expert-level skills in Premiere Pro. Knowledge of After Effects is an added advantage.
\n\tA strong portfolio or showreel demonstrating a range of video projects and styles, creative framing and video editing.
\n\tDeep familiarity with professional DSLR\/Mirrorless- or camera systems, audio recording hardware and gimbal stabilization.
\n\tExperience working in complex environments (such as academia or NGOs) where you can navigate diverse stakeholder needs while maintaining a creative edge.
\n\tStrong scriptwriting and storyboarding skills to complement your visual work.<\/p>\n
