About the role:<\/p>\n
The role is responsible for managing and reducing the Pay-As-You-Go (PayG) loan portfolio in early arrears through diligent monitoring, proactive collections, and effective recovery strategies. It involves tracking repayment trends, identifying risk areas, and implementing corrective actions to minimize non-performing loans.<\/p>\n
The position requires close collaboration with Collections Associates and Field Collections teams to ensure timely follow-up and comprehensive reporting on arrears performance. It also includes maintaining detailed records of collections, insurance claims, and compliance reports to support business decision-making.<\/p>\n
This is a hands-on role requiring strong leadership, analytical skills combined with excellent communication and relationship-building skills..<\/p>\n
Key Responsibilities:<\/p>\n
\tProject relevant trends that affect the collectibles of the PayG portfolio in early arrears and isolate potential problem areas.
\n\tDevelop and implement effective collection strategies in partnership with Field Collections and Recoveries teams to consistently achieve collection targets.
\n\tMonitor PayG loan repayments and initiate\/recommend a course of action.
\n\tConduct field customer visits (on a need basis) and telephone calls to follow up on payments and collect from PayG debtors.
\n\tExecute the institution strategy in reducing the Non-performing PayG portfolio at the same time report on early loan arrears collections on a regular pre-determined basis and provide information for business reporting.
\n\tEnsure over 1-90-day arrears management for all disbursed PayG loans is fully executed.
\n\tEnsure a record is maintained with track of all the recovery progress for all PayG loans in arrears.
\n\tEnsure weekly arrears reports are prepared for all the Relationship Managers & regions and follow up with them to ensure full repayment.
\n\tEnsure demand notices are prepared and ensure that they are forwarded to the defaulting PayG customers.
\n\tEnsure an up-to-date register on loan-related insurance claims is maintained and ensure prompt reimbursement from underwriters.
\n\tMonitor debt collection response cycles and contacts as well as credit control performance for PayG loans in early arrears.
\n\tManage resource scheduling and the determination of priority of work and procedures to maximize production output and success levels for the credit collection Relationship Managers.
\n\tReport and monitor all risks associated with debt collection.
\n\tGenerate compliance reports for use in decision-making and performance appraisals.
\n\tPerform any other duties within the scope of this position.
\n\tAdditional responsibilities as assigned from time to time.<\/p>\n
Qualifications:<\/p>\n
\tBusiness-related degree, CPA qualification is an added advantage.
\n\tOver 4 years\u2019 experience in debt collection and recovery environment (Practical experience in Lending and recovery).
\n\tKnowledge in credit management and banking is an added advantage.
\n\tKnowledgeable on the Financial Services, Micro Finance and consumer lending sectors is a must.
\n\tHands-on leadership, team management, and people development skills.
\n\tAbility to work in a dynamic environment in a small team and enjoy multi-tasking and working under pressure to achieve deadlines.
\n\tGood team player with a commitment to value-based leadership.
