Job Objective<\/p>\n
\tThe position of Deputy Vice Chancellor \u2013 Teaching and Learning (DVC- TL) is central to driving excellence in teaching, learning, curriculum innovation, student success, and academic quality assurance within a rapidly evolving higher education landscape. The job holder will provide strategic leadership and oversight of all academic affairs, including quality assurance, programme development and accreditation, student enrolment management, and the enhancement of the student academic experience.<\/p>\n
Duties and Responsibilities<\/p>\n
\tProvide strategic leadership in academic affairs to safeguard and enhance academic quality, standards, and institutional reputation.
\n\tAdvise the University Senate on the development of academic programmes in conformity with the Universities standards and guidelines as provided by the Commission for University Education (CUE), and by legally recognised professional bodies.
\n\tLead the transformation of teaching and learning through innovative, technology-enabled, and student-centred pedagogical approaches.
\n\tOversee student admissions, examinations, postgraduate studies, and library services to ensure efficiency, integrity, and quality.
\n\tDrive curriculum innovation to ensure relevance, responsiveness to industry needs, and alignment with global best practices.
\n\tSpearhead the development and implementation of academic policies, frameworks, and strategies for continuous quality improvement.
\n\tCoordinate academic partnerships, collaborations, and linkages with leading local and international institutions.
\n\tCoordinate development and implementation of policies and the strategic plans for the academic Division to ensure the achievement of the University\u2019s Vision and Mission.
\n\tEstablish robust monitoring and evaluation systems to ensure compliance, accountability, and performance excellence across academic units.
\n\tOversee effective planning, resource allocation, and execution of divisional work plans aligned to University priorities.
\n\tEnsure integrity, security, and effective management of student academic records and systems.
\n\tPromote a vibrant academic environment that enhances student engagement and scholarly activity.
\n\tUndertake any other duties as may be assigned by the Vice Chancellor & CEO.<\/p>\n
Qualifications And Experience<\/p>\n
\tBe a Professor or Associate Professor of a recognised and accredited University.
\n\tHolder of an earned PhD from a recognised and accredited University.
\n\tA minimum of ten (10) years\u2019 progressive experience in senior University Management roles such as Principal of a university constituent college, Deputy Principal of a university constituent college, Director of a University Campus, Dean, Director, or equivalent in a university or comparable institution.
\n\tDemonstrated experience in leading academic transformation, quality assurance, and curriculum development initiatives.
\n\tProven track record of scholarly achievement, including peer-reviewed publications, academic books, or book chapters of international repute.
\n\tBe a member of the relevant professional body.
\n\tCandidates who meet the following requirements will have an added advantage:<\/p>\n
\t\tFamiliarity with KCA University academic systems and practices.
\n\t\tInternational academic or administrative exposure and active participation in global academic networks.
\n\t\tExperience managing multi-campus operations or large academic portfolios.<\/p>\n
