We are looking for a dynamic HR Business Partner – Academics to serve as a strategic resource for our academic division. You will be the bridge between faculty development and organizational goals, ensuring our 222 teachers across 7 campuses are supported, engaged, and performing at their best. This is a “high-impact” role where you will balance operational excellence with strategic talent initiatives.<\/p>\n
Key Responsibilities<\/p>\n
Strategic Partnership & Advisory<\/p>\n
\tAlign HR strategies with academic goals by collaborating with Heads of Schools and department heads.
\n\tAct as a trusted advisor to senior academic staff, providing guidance on workforce planning, policy interpretation, and organizational change.
\n\tAssist in drafting and managing the academic HR budget in line with school financial objectives.<\/p>\n
Talent Acquisition & Management<\/p>\n
\tLead the end-to-end recruitment and onboarding process for academic staff, ensuring high-quality hires and a fast turnaround.
\n\tDrive initiatives to improve faculty well-being and engagement to maintain a stable retention rate (target attrition below 10%).<\/p>\n
Performance & Professional Development<\/p>\n
\tHarmonize performance appraisal tools across schools, transitioning current systems toward the Enko model.
\n\tConduct training needs analyses and facilitate professional development opportunities (workshops, seminars) aligned with Enko\u2019s quality standards.
\n\tCoordinate and implement the first formal performance reviews for Heads of Schools and their Deputies.<\/p>\n
Employee Relations & Safeguarding<\/p>\n
\tManage faculty grievances, conflict resolution, and disciplinary matters with high emotional intelligence and fairness.
\n\tServe as a champion for Child Safeguarding policies, ensuring all staff understand their duty of care and welfare responsibilities.<\/p>\n
HR Operations & Analytics<\/p>\n
\tMaintain accurate faculty records and oversee administrative functions such as health insurance schemes and staff welfare activities.
\n\tLeverage HR data and digital tools (Personio\/MZZ) to generate reports on metrics like turnover, diversity, and satisfaction to support executive decision-making.<\/p>\n
Who are we looking for?<\/p>\n
\tExpertise: You have at least 5 years of HR experience, with at least 3 years in a senior or managerial role where you regularly interacted with C-level leadership.
\n\tCertification: You hold a Bachelor\u2019s degree in HR, Business Administration, or a related field, and you are a member in good standing of the IHRM (CHRP Kenya).
\n\tMindset: You are a “plug-and-play” professional\u2014empathetic yet assertive, with the ability to stay calm and effective in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment.
\n\tSkills: You possess strong analytical skills, are comfortable using HRIS\/ERP systems to interpret data, and have a proven track record in problem-solving and change management.<\/p>\n
