Job Objective<\/p>\n
\tThe job holder will support the design, implementation, maintenance, and security of the University\u2019s ICT network infrastructure, ensuring reliable connectivity, data protection, and the efficient operation of systems to facilitate teaching, learning, research, and administrative functions.<\/p>\n
Duties and Responsibilities<\/p>\n
\tInstall, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot ICT infrastructure, including hardware, software, and network devices.
\n\tMonitor and maintain endpoint security systems and network security tools.
\n\tAssist in network expansion projects, including Wi-Fi deployment and switch upgrades.
\n\tSupport implementation of secure access controls and VPN services.
\n\tPerform regular system backups and test recovery procedures.
\n\tAssist in procurement processes by preparing technical specifications.
\n\tEnsure compliance with institutional ICT security policies.
\n\tMaintain proper documentation of network configurations, changes, and incidents.
\n\tSupport VoIP systems and structured cabling where required<\/p>\n
Qualifications And Experience<\/p>\n
\tBachelor in Information Technology, Computer Science or Information Systems
\n\tProfessional certifications in networking and security, such as Cisco Networking Academy certifications (e.g., CCNA), Linux System Administration (e.g., The Linux Foundation certification) and Endpoint Security certification or equivalent will be an added advantage.
\n\tMinimum of one (1) year hands-on experience in:
\n\tICT support services
\n\tLAN\/WAN network administration
\n\tEndpoint security implementation and monitoring
\n\tHardware and software troubleshooting
\n\tDemonstrated experience supporting at least 50+ networked workstations in an enterprise or institutional environment.
\n\tExperience in implementing or managing security monitoring systems (e.g., SIEM, endpoint monitoring tools).
\n\tExposure to VoIP systems, wireless access point configuration, and core\/edge switch configuration will be an added advantage<\/p>\n
