\tThe job holder is responsible for teaching, research, consultancy, administration, supervision, mentoring and tutorial support to enable students maximize their potential.<\/p>\n
Duties & Responsibilities:<\/p>\n
Teaching and Learning<\/p>\n
The key tasks include, but are not limited to:<\/p>\n
\tKeep abreast of developments in academic discipline and use this knowledge to shape and review the curriculum content design and delivery
\n\tPreparation of teaching materials, class methodologies, teaching aids
\n\tTeaching\/ instructing students
\n\tCarry out and moderate both formative and summative assessments using a variety of methods and deliver appropriate feedback to students to support learning
\n\tApprove and moderate examination results as part of the school board of examiners<\/p>\n
Research<\/p>\n
The key tasks include, but are not limited to:<\/p>\n
\tConduct research in relevant areas of expertise, and publish in peer reviewed and reputable journals
\n\tApply for grants through writing proposals for own research and scholarly projects
\n\tMentoring junior academic staff and promoting a research culture
\n\tAttending and disseminating research output in local and international conferences (e.g., policy briefs, interviews etc.)<\/p>\n
Administration<\/p>\n
The key tasks include, but are not limited to:<\/p>\n
\tImplement strategic plans through setting goals, defining priorities, and aligning resources (including budgets) through leading academic hubs and committees
\n\tSit in academic staff recruitment panels when called upon. Provide guidance in the appointment and promotion process for academic staff
\n\tProgramme development, review, and assessment
\n\tRepresent the University in external clients, partners, and other stakeholder\u2019s engagements
\n\tMaintain accurate and up-to-date students\u2019 records for their courses (course files)
\n\tSit in University and School committees when called upon.
\n\tCommunity Engagements
\n\tCarry out service to society activities.<\/p>\n
Academic Qualifications:<\/p>\n
\tMasters\u2019 Degree in area of specialization<\/p>\n
Experience:<\/p>\n
\tMinimum of 1-3 years\u2019 experience<\/p>\n
