Job Responsibilities<\/p>\n
Procurement Planning & Execution<\/p>\n
\tDevelop and implement procurement plans for Agrochemicals and Fertilizers.
\n\tWork closely with the Head of Agro-Division and the Procurement Manager to align procurement schedules with seasonal demand cycles (planting seasons, regional demand variations).
\n\tRaise, process, and track purchase orders (local and international).
\n\tMonitor stock levels and trigger replenishment in coordination with warehouse and sales teams.<\/p>\n
Supplier Management<\/p>\n
\tConduct supplier due diligence, including technical capability, certifications, and compliance.
\n\tNegotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery timelines, and contracts.
\n\tMaintain a vetted supplier database for agrochemical and fertilizer categories.
\n\tConduct periodic supplier performance reviews (cost, quality, delivery, compliance).<\/p>\n
Regulatory Compliance & Quality Assurance<\/p>\n
\tLiaise with the Registration Department to ensure all procured chemicals and fertilizers comply with PCPB (Pest Control Products Board) regulations, KEBS standards, and international standards (FAO, WHO where applicable).
\n\tLiaise with the Shipping Department to ensure the necessary import permits are obtained, while confirming adherence to all applicable labelling and handling requirements with the technical team.<\/p>\n
Inventory & Demand Management<\/p>\n
\tCollaborate with Sales and Customer Service teams to forecast demand accurately and ensure on-time delivery.
\n\tMonitor inventory turnover and minimize obsolete or expired stock.
\n\tSupport periodic stock audits and reconciliation.<\/p>\n
Cost Optimization & Budget Control<\/p>\n
\tDrive cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality.
\n\tMonitor market trends in fertilizer and chemical pricing (global commodity trends, forex impact), where necessary.
\n\tOptimize logistics costs by developing a competitive local transporter base and optimizing truck utilization.<\/p>\n
Logistics & Import Coordination<\/p>\n
\tCoordinate import logistics including clearance with the Shipping Department.
\n\tTrack shipments and resolve delays or discrepancies.
\n\tEnsure compliance with importation regulations for hazardous and controlled substances.
\n\tAlign product arrival schedules with warehouse readiness to minimize truck waiting time.<\/p>\n
Reporting & Documentation<\/p>\n
\tPrepare procurement reports on a monthly and quarterly basis.
\n\tMaintain accurate procurement records and documentation.
\n\tEnsure audit readiness and compliance with internal controls<\/p>\n
Other Requirements<\/p>\n
Academic Qualifications<\/p>\n
\tBachelor’s Degree in Procurement & Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.<\/p>\n
Experience<\/p>\n
\tMinimum 5 years of procurement experience.
\n\tAt least 2\u20133 years in agrochemicals, fertilizers, or regulated products will be an added advantage.
\n\tExperience in international sourcing and importation is highly desirable.<\/p>\n
